What's your Top Ten all time movie list?

ease up DD. I already contributed my favourite movies…this was just a bit of fun and hardly derailed anything.. Maybe those pesky EF boys are starting to get you mate.

Not at all BC though people like to think so. Already you attracted 3 or 4 responses and you know how easily things can get derailed. I just don’t think it’s necessary. You are one yourself to complain about the subject being done to death.

Fair enough…your thread and your call.

Actually Zulu is a ripper.

I’d include Schindler’s List as well after going to Auschwitz a few years ago…a great Spielberg film that really resonated plus the fact the original book was written by Australian Tom Keneally and is based on fact.

Shawshank Redemption, Gallipoli…

Yep, and the Black and White adds to it.

I had a think about Gallipoli , yep OK not bad but for me it had a few too many inaccuracies and cliches in it to really get up there.

I almost put 1917 in there for an outstanding new one.

Here’s a couple of Aussie greats. Breaker Morant and The Odd Angry Shot with Graham Kennedy and Graham Blundel (aka Alvin Purple).

The Great Escape
Grease
Back to the Future

It’s amazing how easy it is to forget looking at everyone’s nominatiins.

Ferris Buelers Day Off was hilarious. Mathew Broderick and Jennifer Grey.

Stripes - Bill Murray and the Colonel

An Officer and a Gentleman - what a movie no doubt has inspired a lot of young people to join the air force, navy and army cores all over the world.

Might have to change my top ten.

would probably add both of The Godfather & Godfather 2
there is some seriously good acting and pretty decent casts especially the first

To add to my earlier 3
The Bourne Identity
In the Name of the Father
Mission Impossible (The first with Tom Cruise)
Born on the 1st of July
Forrest Gump
The silence of the lambs

Being a bit older than you boys, Most of these some wont know:
The Vikings (Kirk Douglas)
Shawshank Redemption
The Castle
The Dambusters
The GodFather
Jonny English
The Man from Snowy River
Doctor No (first James Bond)
River Queen (Humpfrey)
And No 1 is And God created Woman ( Bridget Boobs) I was 16 yo.

Crikey just remembered Enter the Dragon - Bruce Lee. I saw that with my cousin at the Capri cinema in Gleddon Arcade.

Still to this day the best martial arts film ever made. I can’t see that ever changing, not in my lifetime anyway.

Surely you have forgotten Bridge on River Kwai, The Great Escape, Mr Roberts and Shane.

Ps Do you mean African Queen rather than River Queen?

Bridge on the River Kwai and The Great Escape Great Movies, but a long way from the real story. Both I love though, along with The Battle of Britain, A Bridge To Far, Battle of the Bulge, Patton, Guns of Navarone, Where Eagles Dare and many others.

In no particular order

Breaker Morant is highly recommended. The lost but now found classic Wake In Fright is well worth a look.

Geez, an interesting topic this one.
There have been many fantastic movies over the years.
James Bond’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service would be one of the best.
Shawshank Redemption.
Enemy of the State shows the dark side of America.
The Falcon and the Snowman.
One of Stanley Bakers movies called Hell Drivers
The Magnificent Seven
The Good, Bad and the Ugly
The 12th Man being a true story
North by Northwest
IP Man would have to be one of the better chop chop movies.

Too many other good movies to mention.

I am a fan of the Monty Python movies, with Life of Brian a slight favourite. Might watch them all again on the weekend as a tribute to Terry Jones. RIP.
