WEST PERTH LIVES ON!

You little ripper!

The Club has said NO to changing it’s name to Joondalup.

In today’s West. Not much more to be said except Hooray!

And NO Basil,it will NOT change it’s name.

But if you wish to Alienate and P off legends like Bill Dempsey and Mel Whinnen, see how you go with a Motion to change the name champ. But your name won’t be champ around this Grand Club. It’ll be deadset MUD!

Troy Pickard,WEST PERTH FOOTBALL CLUB is better off without you Pal!

Well done Brett Raponi and the Board!

Hopefully this saga has come to an end for good. The people have spoken. No more name change motions. It’s done and dusted!

The West Perth Football Club lives on. Thank goodness.

Thank you to everyone who supported the retention of the rightful name - WEST PERTH FOOTBALL CLUB.

It’s A Grand Old Flag.

Cheers mate.

Hopefully it is the end of the matter, but always be on your guard for outside AND inside plants.

Go and have a crack at Towelled up on PerthNow.

I did.

A big FU to the Joondalup Council…great to see money not doing all the talking just this once. Congrats to WPFC for listening to the heart of its’ people. Very refreshing stance taken here once again by this footy club. Respect!

Don’t forget your Channel 9 Caps tomorrow,Cardie Fans. B) :silly:

PS - Only joking.

That issue is entirely to you guys.

Balls of steel at that Club. I thought they would take the bait. Cannt help but congratulate Raponi and the board, they listen to their members and stick true.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Well done to the Board at West Perth. After all it is the members and supporters who are the heart and soul of any club. Be interesting to see if this story rates a mention on the mainstream radio/ tv “so called” sports reports?

Hey my understanding that the people had nothing to with it it was the board, I also understand that Ripony is annoyed, as is Pikhard and others.

Well if Brett Raponi was annoyed,he settled on the right choice in the end Grump.

As I’ve said before,125 Years of Proud History was too important to throw away,to satisfy the egos of those, who don’t really care about the Club.

If Brett was supposedly part of that group,he ultimately chose Very Wisely!

Well done West Perth, it just wouldn’t be as much fun calling you Joondy if that actually was your official name. But jokes aside we can’t have the states oldest existing WAFL club selling its soul, that’s East Perths job.

well done WP.

I can tell you Grump my friend, Brett is not annoyed and nor is David and nor is Troy. Business as usual at the club. OK, 40 Grand gone from the council, we will pick it up from else where. Joondalup drive will look different after the new function / club room area is completed. The power of advertising.

Why would the club need that $40g anyway, the taxpayers are paying for your new facilities.

True, but the tax payers are not paying for the all extras.

We talking about the West Perth Cardinals or the West Perth Falcons.

Still West Perth, Chaddy. Whether they are Cardinals or Falcons, the Club remains West Perth. No alignment or almagamations…no asterisks alongside Premierships won!!! Go West.

Basil Zempilas, should not even be mentioned in the same breath as Mel Whinnen & Bill Dempsey, they are the history of the WPFC, Basil was a speck on the Jumper

Totally agree Kirbs.
