Wow - surprised with this news. This the guy that did a big job on Charlie Constable on the wet day at Leederville and was interviewed by Sport FM the following week? Solid unit? If him - is it because he was spewing he didn’t retain his spot in the league team.

That’s very strange RL. To lose a young player of his ilk is a big blow and strange move on his part.
I believe he’s been guaranteed permanent midfield time by the Falconis,which was the crux of the problem,but it’s disappointing a little more patience wasn’t exercised,but that’s part and parcel of the normal politics of a footy club I suppose.

KC - I guess Hagan needs to roll that AFL dice one last time, good luck to the young fella. Smartt along with a rumoured returning Chris Walker, will add some zip to EF forward/ mid lines. …and considering Montubaun returned late in the year for 1 game post a serious injury, only to get injured gain, could be considered an in as well.
Not sure if Tom Bennett, with that nasty injury he sustained late this year, will be going around again. Been an invaluable servant of the EFFC…premiership player to boot.

During the season WP approached him and that caused some concern at EP and he was promoted to the league. I would suggest that he has looked at the recruitment at EP and players may be returning that his place in the pecking order is slipping. Personally, I rate him highly, injuries early on in his senior playing days did slow him down in his progression. I think that he will be a great get for WP with his bulk, strength and skills.
He’s a promising player Mr G,but he was given 8 games this year,which was a good platform to build his career with a team that has played off in a GF in the last 2 years,but personal ambition has obviously superseded EPFC team glory,but as I said,I don’t believe it was entirely his own call.
