I wouldn’t be too hard. They are undersized, lack pace, lack height. They hung on for as long as they could, but they aren’t in the same league as South Fremantle.

How the mighty have fallen. I reckon Wardman needs to pick his 22 best competitors. It doesn’t have to be the best 22 which to be honest is pretty ordinary anyway, but the guys who will have a real hot crack. I’d rather get beaten by a large margin if all 22 are having a go than seeing pretenders running around in the maroon and gold.
Today I saw too many just going through the motions. Snadden was a perfect example in the second quarter when he pretended to be trying but the Souths guy just picked the ball up and ran away from him.,
Note to list management team. We were smashed through the middle with inside 50s 57 to 36. What does that tells us? We need at least 2 possibly 3 decent mids next year and a key defender as Savigni is battling by himself at the moment.
The fall from premiers in 2021 to being the worst team in the comp in 2025 is really disappointing,

Honestly this looks like being our worst season since the dark ages of 1980, where we were wooden spooners with 2 wins and a percentage of 59! Great job coach and list management!
So where to now??
There is no little master Bunton coming along to pull us out of the cellar. No ruckmen Keene or Scott coming through to build a team around, no Dean or Bremen coming through consistently delivering 60-70 metre bombs.
In fact there is nothing coming through as any good talent is snatched by the afl.
Most importantly there is no Western Underwriters etc throwing coin at us, as it’s now a second tier competition.
I think it’s fair to say that we are pretty much skint.
So with the decision to remove our memorabilia from the club and the mindset of fuck you, you are irrelevant, to the long standing members/fans, it looks like our one and only purpose is to try to make revenue some other way, spend fa on recruiting good players and coaches, and just plod along on the bottom of the ladder, be the chopping block of the league again, and just become a talent developer for the afl clubs.
I say fuck that and fuck you Subiaco!
I can’t see any light only a long black tunnel, maybe we should just merge with wc, at least we would have a past legend Horse as coach and maybe win a few games and most importantly be gone with wardman and his list management who have single handedly reduced us to a rabble

We were a class above in all those departments not so long ago, particularly strength and conditioning. Looks like we have gone on the cheap in that department too!
A question for you JL. You go to the after match presentations, what does Wardman have to say about the situation we are in, in his speeches? More delusional talk from him?

I was having a chat with the a few after the game on Saturday.
Some, like me, want the memorabilia back. To quote one stalwart, culture starts off the park and builds from there.
Archer is definitely drafted. Capes has resigned, apparently.
Another ex player was very upset with our hardness. Or lack of. But didn’t like the idea of sacking a coach.
In the 3/4 time huddle, Wardman was composed and sensible given the situation. Didn’t rant or rave. Tried to be constructive. He hasn’t got Schoey’s intensity but he’s very focused on his game plan. It just doesn’t really make much difference when the players aren’t as strong or fast or tall.
If we do have a mid 80s revival, that will be something.
One more thing, South Fremantle have lots of memorabilia on their walls. It makes for a good drinking environment.
I don’t know what the answer is. Once upon a time we were the premier destination club of the WAFL attracting delisted AFL talent like Litherland, Harry Marsh, Lockyer, Phil Read, Zac Clarke just to name a few.
I can’t see anyone wanting to come to a club which is so poor in every aspect of the game.
Absolutely culture starts off the field, with our memorabilia gone so has our culture.

So May was recruited to replace Sokol, that is all that we replaced. Now that is fucked. Seriously why would you recruit a young gun like that?? What is the point? To give him another chance at cracking the big time. Fuck that, better off chasing an ex afl player like Ruscoe, much less chance of losing them mid season.

I will make an educated guess that Coolio has also walked, hence the sudden arrival of joondy reserves mid Gathercole.
All our recruits gone, May, Coolio, Richards-smashed by big Jono Marsh, never to be seen again, Hayden gone well before the season started, yet wardman was still telling the fans he’s going to be like a new recruit, as with Lockyer, no where to be seen.

As another long time die hard Lion said to me after last weeks debacle vs SD, the players just don’t give a shit.
They aren’t playing for wardman, they don’t give a shit.
That tells me his time is well and truly up. Not to mention the amount of players that will no way come back while he is in charge.
As BC said, no good player will come to us now, especially with him as coach.

Baz, just guessing but I think that they think it will influence the hiring out of the premises to randoms for functions/events, which going forward will be another stream of income for them
Correct DG. I went to the Luke Hodge lunch event at the club a couple of weeks ago and I guess the thinking is it makes the venue more appropriate for non-footy aligned functions like weddings etc although in saying that, there’s no hiding it’s the SFC football social premises.
