Vs Steak & Kidney

I thought the game was a bit like the Curate’s egg yesterday from a WCE viewpoint.

A few highlights, and lowlights:

  • NicNat proved just how important he is to the team. They looked vastly different while he was on the Park.
  • LeCras showed what he is capable of, and hopefully has a good season left
  • Ryan showed glimpses of real talent, and certainly the best of the 3 debutantes

Lowlights

  • Lycett is a passenger, and a free-kick (unfortunately, against) machine. Will stay until NicNat gets full match fitness
  • Sheppard uncharacteristically timid and mistake prone
  • Masten was Masten.

Overall, gave me confidence to keep watching. Bloody hell - Sydney are good at the stoppages, and when the ball is on the ground.

A curiosity for me was the decision by coach Simpson to not play his best defender on Sydney’s (and possibly the entire league) best forward. Is it a case of short term pain for long term gain?

It was a cracking game.Could have gone either way.
