Vic Centric Crap again

Disappointed but not surprised that the Vics are versing everyone else. No respect shown by the supposed afl again. Eagles and Dockers should demand state v state.

I guess it’s the only way to get players from all states involved in a one-off game. They could have made it players from the eastern states of Vic, NSW, Tas and Qld versus a combined WA/SA team but the outcome would still be the same with a hybrid mix in each team.

Nothing’s changed. Ardath cup 1977 they weren’t even in it, the vfa represented victoria, vfl clubs too good? Watched the abc show the winners from 1980 the other day very few non vic players, eg Fitzpatrick & wiley. By 1982 almost half of all the teams were made up of interstate stars and it was getting worse every year. They raped the fk out of everyone with $ and the attraction of playing in the big league

Sad thing was DG most of those VIC VFL clubs offering up the big money to WA & SA players were actually broke back then as well.

Yes very sad mate

So the vices get to wear their own jumper, what will us, the poor cousins wear?

Would that have changed the result?

Bh I’m pretty sure back then the Wafl+Vfl where both bankrupt. But the Sanfl where in pretty good shape. They owned Football Park outright. And told the Vfl where to stick there expanded competition

I would imaging so - Yes

Can’t see either stand alone State of Origin WA or SA team getting a go now after that Big V win…that last quarter certainly put those possibilities to bed quick smart.

Freeze I have no doubt if you put a fully fledged WA State Of Origin side together with no player restrictions on it per club as was the case with that garbage Victorian Exhibition Game Bullshit that was on last night they would give a far better spectacle in both passion and pride for the Black Swan jumper than that All Stars crap!

I respect the reason for the game, so I thought I’d watch it. I must admit, after 10 mins, I’d had enough, so only went back to keep up with the scores and to see if they got out of the bruise free game. To me, it was a scripted soap serial episode. The vics were always going to win for their fire ravaged buddies. They get to wear their home jumper and the rest of the nobodies wore an insipid meaningless jumper. All in all, it was a total disrespect towards the rest of the states and just another prictorian wankfest.

I could not have summed it up any better than that highlighted 58!

You would be pretty silly to draw any conclusions as to the relative strengths of the states, based on last night’s selection-restricted exhibition game.

As 58 said, kudos for the rationale (someone mentioned $6-7 million raised), but state-of-origin it certainly wasn’t.

Thing is jack, they may have raised that much. However, one of the commentators mentioned that $10 for every person that went through the gate would go to the fund. So where did the rest go? I thought VFL was going to pick up the cost of running the comedy show.

The reason this was allowed to be called “State of Origin” is because of dorks like Nisbette following the AFL (vfl) party line. West Coast from the start have been dismissive of WA footballl. Too agreeable and ready to attend - i.e. Drop their pants

And if the Eagles had said they wouldn’t participate, because it wasn’t real “State of Origin”?

Should have been called what it was, a fundraising exhibition match which did it’s job well but, State of origin? No way.
