Just read that 1970 Sandover Medalist and former Perth champion Pat Dalton has died at the age of 77 after a short illness. Was just before my time so I’ll leave it to others who saw him play to pay tributes.
I saw a bit of him DD and he was a very, very good player. Played in the centre from memory and very skilful. RIP Pat.

Outstanding player, skillful, hard and had football nous
Yep saw Paddy play a fair bit. Tough as nails and with skills to boot. Will be sadly missed by all PFC followers of that era. Thanks for the Memories.
Played over 200 games for Perth Football Club if my foggy old memory is correct.
Is sad news to hear another gone.
I might have told this story a while back but I met him at his sisters 60th birthday party many years ago. I had been to the footy and Perth had one of the rare wins at the time so i was on a bit of a high. This fella says to me who do you go for and I said the mighty Demons. He said to me oh yeah I used to get a kick for them. I asked him what his name was and nearly fell over when he told me. Very humble man. RIP Paddy.
A sad loss. A wonderful player and one of nature’s finest gentlemen.
Sandover Medallist and State player.
A wonderful servant of the Perth Football Club and the WAFL.
RIP Paddy. Thanks for all those great memories.
Yes a great player, happy to say I saw many of his 216 games.
The Dalton family were great servants of our great Club.
Pat was probably the top of the heap.
And a thorough gentleman to boot.
Sad sad loss.
Thoughts to the Dalton family.
RIP Pat.
Great pic of Dalton and his two Perth team mates drinking tea post match on Facebook…just goes to show to be a hard nut in footy, you don’t need to be covered in ink, have a Dusty haircut or Dale Morris biceps…my dad raved on about this fella, obviously before my time…no nonsense footballer…don’t make them like they used to eh?
R.I.P Pat.
His daughter Lisa used to be a sports reporter on Ch10 back in the day as well.
They were his brothers Don and Barry.
I think Don was the first play then Pat and then Barry.
There was another brother I recall…Dale.
Not sure whether all four played together but the day three of them played it was a big win for the Dees. The old Weekend News green pages headlined the story.. The Dalton Gang too good.
Paddy had all the football smarts and was tough as well.
Yes remember Dale now you mention it.
I’m sure he played league.
Don played 118 games 1957-1963
Barry played 29 games between 1960 and 1964
Paddy played 217 games 1960-1971
Dale did not play any League games.
Thanks Smokey.
