v Subi

Bit of an expectation that EF, after their at the death win over SD on Sun, will now kick start their season. For me, how did SD get 22 pts clear in the final quarter is my focus of concern. Never expect to get out of jail once, let alone twice.

EF can’t rest on their laurels and definitely need to consolidate on that win v SD and bring their A game v Subi. Be interested to see what EF do with the likes of Boekhorst, O’Reilly and Eardley…all 3 coming off long term injuries, and now only a 6 day break…do they play or rest?..especially since Subi are coming in fresh after a 2 week break.

Be great if Joyce and LeggettL are a chance to play, can see young Dunscombe making way. Lawlwr kicked 5 last time these sides met, so hopefully we can see a repeat of that…as he was pretty quiet v SD on Sunday Does Teakle go forward, with no JMarsh up front, allowing RMcGuire to ruck, as Subi don’t have Clarke anymore.

I went to the game Freeze, EF were good early but when the sting went out of the game they couldn’t get much continuity going from either the back half to the middle or from the middle to the forwards. I still cant see anyone matching them when fully fit, it is starting to look a bit like the $ubi days all over again. I see we have EF @ Claremont Oval in June, thank fuck I am on the Mackeral Islands fishing.

Freeze, I dont think your lads will have too much to worry about, we saw what Eastland did to Subi last game and you guys are blessed with more talls than you need so Subi will struggle unless they bring the same game they used v Peelmantle, then we might have a slim chance. We have a few key players out as well, Schoefield, plus Hayden, Kentfield & Lockyer (who are a faint chance to be back) and Braut, Not quite as bad as your mob, but significant. If we continue to bomb the ball into the 50 we will get smashed.

SS, that Subi side looks more then competitive…I really do think folk are over rating EF at present…up front, EF lack a presence, as JMarsh always takes the best defender, HMarsh always hits the scoreboard, and is a presence in the midfield too. A few of the premiership players haven’t reached the standards they achieved last year, but I guess it’s only early rounds into the season.

Good to see Boekhorst listed, also Joyce and Leggett too…Lawler and McDonald out…one of the talls on the bench will play…maybe even both…with Boekhorst and Joyce…Subi’s mids are definitely bolstered with Clark and Foley on board…plus Mayo and Sokol are class acts, and Borchet when on song can be dangerous. Locker adds height and experience to Subi’s defence

Important game for both sides, should be a close contest, not sure who is going to kick that clutch goal for EF with McDonald not playing.

Is McDonald out through suspension ? Belted Swans bloke behind play last week near 2 umpires and no free kick as too busy looking after Murdoch.

That explains why the game winning hero is out and not named in the reserves.

Lawler and McDonald are attending weddings.

My 10 cents worth.

Been to all the games so far and obviously the Tigers game is the outlier. The rest of the time we’ve been bang average and nothing like a premiership threat. Couple of premiership players still might be having celebratory beers as just a bit off the pace.

I applaud the Sharks for trying Cleaver in the middle. Personally, I think he struggled, but you don’t learn a position in one week so give him the benefit of the doubt. I just got frustrated last week when we were struggling in the middle whilst a Lynn Medal winning midfielder in Baskerville was sitting in the backline. Pretty sure he started the last quarter in the centre square though and I see he’s named on the ball this week, but that means nothing.

Hopefully they get their shit together soon as the hard games are here.

Hmmm umpires too busy looking after Murdoch from what? and Jackson McDonald belting Swans bloke behind plays does sound a bit far fetched mate. Are you sure you weren’t hallucinating?

Ti Em…I think MO is still peeved that Murdock’s minder Jeb, cost SD the game in the dying mins…

Not peeved about ODonogue at all, kid just followed instructions all day.
Coach is our issue.

Not wanting to give EF excuses to fall back on but surely the fact that you are playing away every week at the moment and don’t know when you will be able to play at home has to be having some impact on the teams performance. That and the injuries to key players.

Injuries are part n parcel mikeh…whilst frustrating, just what it is…yep no home ground hurts, but to some degree no different to last year.

So the coach instructed Jeb to kick centrally instead of to the boundary in the dying seconds MO?..no wonder the SD boys on here are losing faith in the coach.

So RMcGuire to the reserves, Boekhorst stays in the reserves…Holmes, Joyce, Dunscombe and Cripps on the bench…this could go down to the wire.

It wasn’t a good decision but it should never have got to that. Why was the player on his own ? Why hadn’t blokes up the ground covered him off, and how do we concede 3 goals in 8 minutes. Silly free kick by Turner and 50 by Doc was worse.
Comedy of errors

MO cant make his mind about Jed. Was it the coaches fault or the umpires looking after Murdoch???..seriously he gave away 6 free kicks and Murdoch should have received more. Were you even at the game???

His name is Jehb, yes I was there.
Murdoch deserved his kicks, no dramas there just would have been nice if the umpires also saw Turner getting held continuously by Baskerville and Chalcraft taken out off the ball by McDonald.

Important game but think Subi, rested off the bye and stinging from their last up lost, would go in warm favourites. Look too strong through the midfield and the Sharks would need a big haul from Leggett.

Subi by 19

$ubi won’t get near them, they aren’t that good.

No doubt you will be pleased to see the blue and whites at even money with some bookies. Hopefully this prediction is more accurate than your ‘East Fremantle not losing a game all season’ - that took just one round to look very silly.

Boekhurst not playing in the reserves as named. Maybe a league return today?

Ti Em, maybe Boekhorst was being managed after that 6 day turn around…last week was his first game of footy in about 18 months…not sure why he didn’t play yesterday TBH.

Another good spread of goalkickers for EF yesterday. Nice to see Leggett hit the scoreboard, hopefully those 4 will kick start his season. Teakle didnt do his State game or MSD chances any harm yesterday, whilst Baskerville seems to be in a rich vein of form, since having more midfield time.

Like a few other clubs in the comp, EF have a few to come back in over the coming weeks. So today’s performance was important in staying in touch, especially after that negative points start and that loss to WCER.

Really enjoy a winning team effort, obviously Subi weren’t at their best, but kudos to EF for facilitating that. Still a very even comp, so every win is an important win. Another big effort needed next week v EP.
