v Souths

Big test for us this week v Souths. Joondalup holds no fear to them as they have a better % record than we do on our own ground, Im sure they have won 13 of the last 15 games @ Joondalup or there a bouts. We will have to concede that we will get monstered in the ruck and that is where we need to at least break even on clearances to have a chance. Souths have a well balanced team and we will need to be a lot better than we were against Swans, particularly more direct and efficient when going forward.

Tough ask this one !

Meadows, West and Pegoraro in, gives us some grunt, run and height with those inclusions. Hopefully we can push them.

Like Subi, Souths are a very skilled team, maybe a faster team by foot, if you guys can do what Cl did to us, thats smothering pressure on the ball carriers out number at the contest, a fair bit of well placed physicality on their key mids, then anything can happen. Nobody gave CL a chance last week so …

Ahem, BC said Claremont would win.

Isn’t that just basic footy tactics? Put intense pressure on the opposition when they’ve got the ball? Its not as if it’s a new tactic to beat Subi or something.

SS, I was saying to a few of the WP boys prior to last w/ends games that you want to get $ubi as early as possible due to lack of footy etc. It proved correct, they won’t make the same mistakes again for the remainder of 2020.

Agree TOO but it’s ok knowing the tractics but very few teams have been able to apply those tactics successfully to Subi in recent years

West Perth quoted at $2.10
And Souths said to be on 1 dollar 72.

Souths had that edge, again pack marks by the opposition hurt as. Too much handball. Meadows got better as the game went on. He is a committed player, i see him giving 100% no matter who he plays for. It was a grind of a game and Souths, they just had that little bit of toughness. Keagan muffed a couple of kicks, he could of won the game for us, but that’s football.

Bugger all in it, a few poor decisions in the fourth in particular cost us. Shaw is kissed on the cock massively, maggots love him, that goal that turned right angles will never be repeated and the kick down the ground on the siren in the 2nd qtr was a horrible decision, that was the difference tbh.

it wasn’t going to be a blowout margin between us and that’s not usually the case generally given the long history lines and rivalry
both sides had several chances to put distance between themselves but it was a real arm wrestle
both sides got frees that might not have been there too so it just came down to who got that last goal

Yeah but even say 10 goals beats 9 would have at least been a game of footy.

Unusually low scoring game of footy that does occur every so often - rare that two sides with pretty good key forwards have such a low scoring affair for sure

Even though it was low scoring, it was very enjoyable to watch. For me anyway. The umpires were whistle happy. But consistently bad.

Hats off to the garlic munchers here. I thought a 70 point hiding was on the cards but they pushed a flag Favorite all the way. After the loss of The Keunen and Riddoch Strijk types I thought they’d be no good. Valentine must be doing a great job as they didn’t recruit any did they.
