Good to see Schoey back and big Edwards suiting up in the ressies. Snadden is also a good in as he’s been influential this year. I saw some positive signs last week even though we couldn’t keep it up in the last qtr, so reckon this could be closer than we think.

Apart from Edwards, thats as good a team as we could field with the current list. The backline still looks fragile and undersized so we need to win the midfield battle to have any chance at all. Perth are really up and about so hopefully they see us as easy beats and their focus may not be 100% … one lives in hope…
Not a whole lot to say which would be any different to the last couple of weeks in that we’re competitive for large parts of the game then fall off for the rest.
We need a serious inside mid and a couple of key backs before we’re starting to win back to back games.
On a high note, good to see Jedd Edwards get through the ressies with 17 possessions and 40 hit outs which should see him pushed up nest week.
JL was trying to figure out who was missing and it was Corbett who does have some pace and does deliver well with ball in hand. Edwards must come in for the Swans game but keep Wagons in as well given Edwards will be a bit underdone. The 2 talls will stretch Swans. Where is Eaton at, I think he had some sort of calf injury. On our lack of pace, guys like Francicini need to be included, he has genuine pace and a capable player, Ash is another one who knows how to get the footy, what has he done wrong to get on the coaches bad side. JL agree re Berenger, did a great job on Clarke who is the form FF in comp and will likely be the state FF.
Unless we unearth some pace and class from the colts, who had a huge win yesterday, we really need to do a Perth or Souths and hit the recruiting trail hard like we used to, otherwise we will be languishing in the bottom half for many years to come.
I reluctantly agree SS. It would be nice to do it from our zones but it’s not possible. We can’t go back to the 80s and recruit just a few like crutchfield and Sells. Everytime a decent kid pops up the afl grab him. The only way to win at wafl level is to recruit the best AFL rejects.
