Once again WC plodded their way to a win over a team at the bottom of the ladder. A slow start but then Darling broke the game open so they lead by 5 goals at halftime against a very young inexperienced team. WC dont know how to destroy a team once they have their foot on their opponents neck. Geelong knew how to do that and WC are a top 8 team. WC then went through the motions and didn’t increase their margin by the final siren. They had a massive opportunity to claw back percentage lost in the Geelong game. Percentage could be the difference between top 4 and making up the numbers, or gaining a home final.
Only reason I went is that I was offered a freebie … and I got what I paid for.
Yep, a very uninspiring game against a wooden spoon contender.
This belongs in the AFL section SS not the WCE reserves. I have moved your comments here and replies.
Bye bye 2021, see you next year.
Simpson seems obsessed with height. The penny never drops even after getting overrun week after week. Jake Waterman a winger.. no way. Bailey Williams an absolute non contributor. I can’t believe that Langdon with his running and tackling power can’t get a game.
Good first half but let them in with 2 late goals just before halftime. Losing Kelly and Allen was game changing plus the rain came after the halftime break and it all looked inevitable that the Bombers would over run a top heavy kick and mark dependent eagles playing 1 short on the bench. There was some really dumb footy by the backs, 4 times in a row they kicked out to the right back flank and 4 times the bombers talls marked and drove it back in, no nous shown to change things up and switch which is their usual capper. Well done Bombers but very disappointing by the Weags, they better pray for fine weather for the rest of the season, just making up the numbers if they make the 8 imho.
Well they want start winning more games more consistently and convincingly, or they won’t even be making up the numbers in the 8!!
