Up and comers

Was at the Perth v Peel game yesterday as much as anything to get a look at the new Freo draftees. The standout for me was Jack Hannath, a big strong ruckman ready made for AFL in terms of his size. He combined with the other new Dockers ruck recruit Craig Moller who also showed promising signs and looks mobile and athletic but has a lot of work to do on his frame before he tastes any AFL action.

They had a couple of good opponents in Daniel Murray who is a similar size to Hannath and Leindekkers who is a similar size to Moller. The stats say the Dockers duo won the ruck knocks but Murray for Perth was the best ruckman on the ground for mine but in Hannath I reckon we have a ready made backup to Sandilands, Griffen and Clarke should 2 of those 3 become unavailable.

Tom Sheridan was one of Peels best and Pitt got a bit of the footy but still looks a long way off being up to AFL standard. Tanner Smith looked ok and one to watch because he has been recruited to cover the key positions when Pav and Mcpharlin pull the pin.

I see Lachie Neale was one of Swan Districts best and Jessie Simpson collected 18 possessions in the Sharks reserves.

It would be great if any WAFL/Freo fans see their side play against Peel to report on how the young guys are traveling.

It appears that Hannath could be a good recruit for us.It seemed that Melbourne were very keen to get their hands on him before any one else.I just heard on the radio that he could very well be in line for a start on Saturday night with Zac Cl;arke injuring himself this morning.I think they recruited him as either a big forward or ruckman.
I think that Pitt will make it but maybe not until later in the year.He is till small by comparison to some.
my smokey for a berth early is Josh Mellington.I was very impressed by him last season before he came down with I think it was glandular fever. He had a pretty good game for the Garlic Munchers on Saturday.
Could be some interesting pick for Saturday night.
can’t wait for the game to start.
