So you are unhappy with the way Kerry Stokes The West Australian newspaper has reported your company. You do a lot of good things putting back into the community from the states resources that have made you an extremely rich man but this state has been crying out for an alternative and real competition to The West Australian.
The late Robert Holmes a Court was a visionary who provided us with the Western Mail. I have no doubt it would still be going today and possibly be the number one rag in Western Australia if he didn’t die young. Please give us a real alternative to Kerry Stokes monopoly. It is truly nauseating seeing Channel 7 and The West Australian patting themselves on the back saying they scooped all the awards and their circulation continues to grow.

DD The Western Mail was losing money all along the way, just like Langs Sunday Independent, it never challenged the main papers circulation wise, the Western Mail closed down in 1988 in debts before Holmes a Court died in 1990, he was bust anyway. Remember he also owned Ch 7 for a while
Days of Print Media are gone, maybe another online news site, but with WA Today, Perth Now, The West and ABC ( free) doubt it would do much good!
The paper is wafer thin these days but the cost isn’t dropping. Everything is online and for all the ones that charge like Herald Sun etc there is always someone providing the same news for free somewhere else.

Not being profitable wouldn’t be a problem for Twiggy. We really need someone with deep pockets. Getting pissed off with Kerry Stokes and The West Australian might just be the catalyst for him to do it.
Apparently the state government was in talks with Stokes and Forrest to jointly throw some coin at the old Coogee power station but precious Kerry pulled out because he didn’t like that it was leaked out that he was part of it. Now the two billionaires aren’t on speaking terms, does that mean someone from Twiggy’s camp leaked it out?
I thought they were both invested in pouring their coin into that other eye sore in East Perth as well, the old East Perth power station.
Well here we go just as I speak I came across this on Google News from the only real competition to The Worst, WA Today. Stokes and Forrest have parted ways over the East Perth power station joint venture. Something is brewing I reckon. Watch this space.
Scrolled down the whole length of The Worst online and low and behold can’t find jack on this story. Lol. The story on WA Today said Stokes is exiting the deal, taken his bat and ball and run.

He would get an instant guaranteed audience crying out for an alternative to the Worst and that tabloid rubbish Perth Now. WA Today is lazy when it comes to AFL and they stopped covering WAFL at least 5 maybe 10 years ago. Wouldn’t be difficult instead of taking YOUR ADVICE and doing another Alan Bond who paid 1 billion to buy Channel 9 off Kerry Packer and selling it back to him for half a billion a year later. I was talking more about getting Hagdorn involved, he is an absolute knob and further more has zero interest in WAFL.
If Forrest had any common sense, he would refrain from even contemplating a foray into newspaper print media.

The old news print would have started taking a hit when tv was first introduced all them years ago and started to appear in more and more homes.
