Fair bit happening for Freo in the first trade period, but gee, they’re moving a lot of players on. As one fellow said in the comments section, forget Flagmantle, they need Staymantle. They’re not in a rebuild and they’re not a sinking ship.
Looks like Fremantle will have to give up 3 first round picks for Jackson (or as close to it). This years and next years from Fremantle and the north’s second round future they got for Louge (19 to 23).
Is this to much? look what West Coast gave up for Kelly and that hasn’t really worked and now trying to rebuild
What happens if neither Fremantle or West Coast do a deal with Melbourne. Does he go into the preseason draft?
Fox Sports are calling the Blake Acres trade to Carlton, the steal of the century.Future 3rd round pick.
Not really sure what Freo are doing in the trade period. They’ve already lost 3 players, 2 of which are in their top 22. They are adamant about hanging on to Lobb even though he has made it clear that he doesnt want to stay. Meek is in limbo and his future probably depends on whether the Dockers get Jackson, which is no gimme given that West Coast appear to have much more to offer Melbourne for his services. This does not seem to be the strategy of a team apparently in a premiership window. Maybe all will become clear by next Wednesday.
Difference being Mike the likes of Logue, Acres, Tucker were out of contract I think whilst Lobb who signed a big front ended 4 year contract has wanted to piss off early for the last 2 years whilst still contracted.
I reckon Bell & co are probably trying to teach him a lesson about fair play maybe?
