Tony Notte - 300th game

Tony plays his 300th game for Swans on Saturday. He will be only the 7th player in WAFL history to achieve this milestone. He has been an outstanding player and clubman over his long career and he has proved to be very durable as he showed when he recovered quickly from an ACL a few years ago, when it looked like it could be a career ending injury.
His ability to take contested marks is a highlight for me but overall he has been a reliable no nonsense footballer who just goes out and does his job for the team. I can’t recall him being involved in anything controversial on the field and I think he would be respected by all WAFL supporters, whoever they might support.
If Tony can stay free of injury, he will also go past the record of Billy Walker, Swans other 300 game player.
He has shown his commitment to the club by commuting from the South west to play every week for the past few years.
We should celebrate this outstanding achievement by Tony as sadly I think it may be the last time that a player goes past 300 for a WAFL club.

Hi Mike. As an opposition supporter, I agree with everything you’ve said and consider this guy a true ornament of the game. To clock up 300 WAFL games is a fine achievement and the way he’s gone about it is a testament to his dedication and professionalism. Congrats Tony, you’re a star of the WAFL but I only hope you don’t celebrate this magnificent milestone with a win.

it’s a fantastic achievement - he’s got a bad knee to carry but he’s quietly accumulated so many games regardless
well deserved congratulations

Big congrats to Notte on a magnificent achievement. As you said Mikeh well respected by the WAFL community and a class player who gives his all for his club. When he hangs up the boots those classic marks will be missed.Good luck to the guy.

To Tony Notte, well done Sir. I don’t think we’ll see another milestone like this. When one considers he’s been travelling from the south-west for several years to keep playing. And acheiving for the one club also.

Congrats to the champ on his 300th, and congrats to SD, in particular Mr Reidy, for securing the win for Notte on his big day.

How good is Notte, an absolute clean wafl footballer, 300 games, brilliant. Keep well Tony.

Agreed, great stuff by Notte

All going well, Tony is due to equal Bill Walkers record against Claremont at Bassendean on July 13 and will go in front at Fremantle 2 weeks later

Congratulations to Tony Notte. An outstanding achievement. Pleasing he could celebrate the milestone with a win.

Congratulations Tony Notte. Fantastic achievement and from all reports a really good bloke as well.

Great achievement by Tony Notte and well done to Swans for celebrating Tony’s milestone with a win.
With WAFL seasons now only comprising 18 games instead of 21, Notte may well be the last player to reach 300.
That said, Aaron Black (259 games), based on his solid form today and depending on his future plans, looks capable of achieving the milestone in 2026.

Congratulations on your 300th game for Swans Tony.
How fitting was it that he took one of his trademark going back with the flight of the ball intercept marks right on the siren.
Truly a modern day WAFL great.

Bones is a weapon! The whole family can play football and were all at Swans at one stage or another. The eldest has the nickname silk due to how smooth he was in traffic and how good he was on his left.

One of the best products to come out of Upper Swan and one of the most humble blokes you’ll ever meet. I’ve got no doubt the family would have been on the hill, like they are every game, just watching the boy doing what he loves. A great family man and they’d all be super proud of what he’s accomplished.

Well done Bones …

Can’t be any more prouder to have watched Tony’s journey as a footballer. Forever grateful for his continued leadership and the dedication he has provided to our club. Tony deserves every accolade that comes his way. And the best part he is from 6056! Congratulations on the 300th milestone, Tony and all the very best for the rest of 2024!
