Tony Beers

Sad that Tony Beers has passed away at the age of 55. He represented W.A once.

Geez mate - yeah I’m a little shocked Beersy is no longer with us ,he had a little bit to do with Ammo club North Fremantle Magpies after his league career had finished too.

RIP champ you were a good bloke

Very sad news from memory he was originally from Victoria who joined the Tigers wasn’t he? Did he play for the Eagles? Do you know the circumstances Winger?

Didn’t play for the Eagles DD, recruited from Collingwood around mid eighties and developed into a really dependable back flanker/ centre half back for us over four or five seasons from memory. I was a youngster then but I remember him as a household name, and what a great surname. RIP Tiger.

As TOO mentioned Tony Beers originally came to Claremont from Collingwood (5 games, 1 goal 1982-83) where his brother Mark Beers (40 games, 23 goals 1984-87) and father Brian Beers (60 games, 72 goals (1958-61 *Premiership player 1958) also at.

He played at Claremont for 7 seasons from 1984-90 (106 games, 89 goals) his playing stats below thanks to waflfootyfacts.
