Time Clocks at WAFL grounds

Last weekend against South’s at Fremantle Oval I thought what a disgrace the time clock has no hand on it to show the time of the quarter and no electronic replacement.

Now I just turned on the telly on the Sunday Footy Feast on 7 showing footage of Buddy Franklin running around for his old junior footy club in Dowerin and what do you think caught my eye?

A magnificent old school traditional Aussie Rules football time clock sitting proudly on top of their clubrooms. Looks very new too not faded like it’s been there for 30 years plus. What a disgrace some of you WAFL club CEO’s are along with WA Football that you won’t get off your ass to fix or replace our time clocks at WAFL grounds.

Agree R and L every ground should have a decent time clock. And clean toilets. Spend a few dollars on every ground and make it more comfortable to go to the footy.

Some bathrooms don’t look that great.

But then, some blokes seem to miss the target and leave a bl**dy mess for others to walk in on!

You just wonder if they bother to clean up any of their Lakes when at Home?!

I won’t hold my breath.

As for the Time Clock,Yes it does look great at Dowerin!

Should Still be at ALL WAFL Grounds, with the electronic Scoreboard/Clocks angled towards the South/West,away from the Winter Sun.

The Fremantle Oval time clock has sadly been retired- for heritage reasons the clock face has been kept and hopefully into future re-instatement will occur

If that’s the line your club is running with Southerner then that’s a load of shite and a lame excuse not to fix/replace it. As you can see from the photo at Dowerin oval they still make them.

Should get it fixed, can’t be that hard.

Also noticed that there were no around the grounds scores on the old fashioned scoreboard at Freo Oval on Saturday. That again isn’t hard to do, especially now with phones and WAFL apps etc. Can’t let these little things fall away, like little league!

South by the way have an electronic clock on the fence between the 2 interchange benches.

That’s good where you sit mate. No good for those of us viewing from that side of the ground.

Surely in our “supposedly modern day & age” time clocks can be repaired? Or simply replaced with a decent new one. Thrre is no real reason not to have a time clock nesr the score board.

They should.

Having said that,if I wasn’t doing what I do on Game Day,out comes the Stop Watch.

Mind you,I rarely Stop it in League Games,as I don’t mind the suspense in close games.

I’m none the wiser than everyone else,…
