Interesting to see what happens with selections on both sides this week. Jordy Lockyer and Max pushing up whilst South and Snadden must be on shaky ground. Kentfield, Tholstrup and McGowan also in the mix with only Schofield a definite out.
I wonder if Hansen Jr will be available as under the midseason draft rules he can play for Subi since Essendon missed the finals.
Also Freo have delisted Colyer and Nathan Wilson so it remains to be seen just how motivated they are to slog it out. This could make for an interesting contest.
BC Kentfield and Tholstrop (great names, sounds like a law firm) must come in and I’d also bring in Mcgowan as he’s been in super form in the 2’s. Might need to see how wet it’s going to be before including Jordy as we wont need as many talls if its wet.
Would love to have Hansen Jnr, but who knows with the AFL & the WAFC, they allowed the Souths guy back from Richmond for the 2021 finals, so there is a precedent.
Re Coyler and Wilson, it will depend on if they want to impress to get another chance somewhere else at the draft.
I see where Sam Menagola has been delisted from Geelong. I trust the club has already been on the phone to him. Apparently good mates with Gus from their Hawthorn days. Would be nice to have Mena, Schoey, Hayden, Giro, the Hickmonts, Max, Morgan, Alone and Kitch running through the mids next year.
Yes I can remember Mena saying back in 2015 after getting drafted by Geelong he’d like to come back to Subi and finish his playing career. Let’s hope he’s still of that view.
Greg Clark probably back too. Foley a chance, not to mention Deware. Not great for the wafl competition, but east freo will need some competition next year . Could be another 1985 ,86 scenario, I reckon
Some big changes with Max, Golding, Kentfield, Savigni, Lockyer, McGowan all back in which is good news. Not sure who’s out just yet other than Schofield.

I reckon it’s a better looking team than last week. Farones are a bit unlucky. Will Hickmont a bit lucky. Robins might have one more chance to impress. He’ll be on an attacking half back flanker with afl experience most likely.
I see Snadden survived the cut which just amazes me. Give me Morgan in a shut down role or Faraone as an additional small target any day of the week on the bench ahead of Snadden who hasn’t fired a shot since he arrived from EF.

Agree BC , not sure what they are thinking there with Snadden ahead of Faraone or Morgan but overall a better side than last week and hopefully a better result!
Yes, agree Jjim. It’s a much better side on paper than we’ve had for quite a few weeks now but still have a bad feeling about this considering FART have included Joel Hamling, Corey Wagner, Tom Emmett, Liam Reidy and Karl Worner along with Colyer, Nathan Wilson, O’Driscoll, Will Brodie plus a couple of others to give 11 Freo listed players.
Our defence looks rock solid now Savigni is back and mids seem a bit thin without Schofield but should break even however it’s up forward where we struggle to get a score on the board. Kentfield coming in makes a big difference but we’ll need to see more from Sokol, Max and the small forwards this week to have any chance.
My heart says Subi by 10 points but my head gives it to FART by about 20.
Here’s hoping the Colts can knock off the Garlic Munchers too, and live another week, and it must be a bonus to have the ressies in with a double chance too. Go Lions!
Apparently Subiaco have won 7 out of the last 10 matches against these plonkers. Hoping they make it 8 from 11. Going on current form, hope Subiaco can fly the flag for the Wafl and should be 2 or 3 goal winners one would assume.
Don’t appoint coaches whom are unqualified otherwise you will lose players and members. The club has the best ruck, the best forward and a good midfield and it is not top. I would not have played for Daryl Foster either, coaches should have experience playing in the male league competition. Remember Subi fans? What a bloody club.
Good game to watch as a neutral. Classic game of two halves where Subiaco missed a chance to put Peel away with their inaccuracy in the first half. Worryingly for other finalists, Peel finished the game full of running, even though they were kicking into the breeze. Subi will now have to lift themselves for the 1st Semi against either East Perth or Claremont. Zac Clarke looks a bit tired or injured to me which may be a worry going into next week.
Disappointing is all I can say to be so far up and then let it slip says to me that the whole programme has lost that ruthless streak that brought us so much success over the last 20 years. It was virtually a carbon copy of last week so we can’t say it was a one-off.
I’m afraid we’ll go out in straight sets based on the last 2 weeks which will be a poor result for what has been a pretty good season. I agree with AR in that we were out-coached as Wardman should have shut down FARTS use of the breeze in the third with spares across half back at crucial times but chose not to for some inexplicable reason.
6 goals on the trot by the opposition when kicking with the breeze suggests to me we didn’t react to the what was happening and just continued down the same path and game plan. Like I said, disappointing sums up my takeaway from this game when we were in a position to lock it away early on.
Very annoying loss. I thought we were fantastic in our effort. Tackling, especially. Peel has some big bodies, including bell, who was excellent. Their ruckman bullied Clark a bit. I think our main problem was getting drive out of the clearances, especially centre bounces.
Soks was terrible for 3 quarters until clicking and almost winning it for us. Liked the Savigni move up forward. Thought lockyer was great first game back. Golding was excellent. Kitch tried hard. They all did. We were close, but were always just getting a kick away, or soccering the ball away.
they marked better in their forward line than we did. That hurt. Plus we missed snaps. How good was Maxy. Perhaps his best game for the club.
