This week against the Wankers

At least West Coast don’t pretend to be a real WAFL side like the Chunder which would still be wallowing at the foot of the ladder motherless if it wasn’t for Freo.

Schoey and Eaton in which is good news.

How does Archer May look, BC? Heard one of your players on the radio talking him up a few weeks ago

A few outs, then. Farone had a bad game last week . Trying to think who else is out. Must be 2 more.

Liam Hickmott, Hudson Walker and Wagenknect are also outs.

Early days KC, but he’s looking very good. Only 21 but at near on 200cms, it wouldn’t surprise me if he goes in the mid-season draft to a West Coast or similar not unlike Callum Sinclair a few years ago or Luker Kentfield.

Against the ferals last week he had 14 disposals at full forward, 7 marks and a couple of goals. He attacks the ball and is a good target up front. Decent pair of hands and a pretty good kick. Plenty of upside in my opinion given he’s only one game into his WAFL career.

Pretty ordinary after Q1. Lucky to win really. Monstered in the ruck as usual, no answer to Flyn. Schoey was good as was Corbett

Yes a great first quarter. And a great first game back by Schofield. A few of the lesser lights showed a bit and the big forwards were impressive and Bartlett adds a bit.
Was Greg Clark injured in the second half?
I don’t want to harp on about Berenger but bloody hell there must be someone else in the ressies with a similar body build or playing capacity to match whatever he is meant to be doing out there?

Geez, you blokes could have been in a bit of trouble if the maggots called some correct calls in their forward 50.

That’s a win which would have been penciled in at the start of the season so good to get across the line. Schofield adds that bit of class through the middle and think our forwards structure up pretty well with the addition of May. It does release Borchet a bit which is good. I also like the forward pressure and pace of Robbins.

Once we get Edwards fit and healthy I have no doubt we’ll start to break even in the ruck as it’s pretty clear we’re getting smashed at the stoppages without a decent ruckman.

My main concern from what I’ve seen at the moment is our defence. We’re missing a key defender and that will start to hurt against the better sides who have a couple of big targets up front. It might be an idea to have Eaton down back once Edwards gets back on the park just to add his leap and size into our defensive half.

Overall, a good win in less than ideal conditions but we may have picked up a couple more injuries to add to the list in Clark, Eaton and Abala.

Agree 100% on the defence BC, though I do like the way Jarrod Richards plays.
The first two games there has been way to many incidents of opposition forwards having very little pressure applied when the ball hits the ground allowing easy shots at goal.

Yes we definitely need Lockyer back down there, hopefully he gets back before round 14!
Edwards and Wagenkent goes without saying.
Clark has a corked thigh, Alabama has concussion.

and thankfully it was pissing down and wc couldn’t kick straight

On another note where is SS?? He’s been strangely quiet on here

I think SS is in Europe. Or somewhere. We were a bit lucky to win in the end. Limped to the finish line. Literally. Seemed to be ankle injuries everywhere.

Really liked May’s game. He surely goes mid season draft. So athletic.

I thought the backline looked unfussed, and mostly in control. But we were out run in the last quarter. Great goal by Eaton in the last got us home.

Good to see the Kingsley boys who left subi in recent years and Kitchen at the game last night.
aInsworth was there, too. Champion and Brockman were interesting. Champion looks a long way off afl level and Brockman looks too good for wafl but it’s not quite dominating.

Cheers JL.
May…we will see. WC already have a very similar player in Shanahan, a gun and younger than May so they probably won’t go May. But it begs the question what is the point of recruiting these young guns, wouldn’t it be better to recruit guys that are in their mid to late 20’s, with less chance of being poached mid season and fucking up our finals chances??

Townsend said on the radio this morning there were a few Essendon Scouts at the game watching May. makes sense considering Edwards injury.

Great!

You are all assuming May wishes to leave.
