This week against the ferals

A bit of a dead rubber but a chance to give the young blokes a some more exposure to senior footy. It looks like rain again so expect a quagmire with heaps of standing water around the ground. I expect to see Cody Eaton to come in for Putt but that’s about it I guess. Picking a winner in those sorts of conditions is a raffle but will go with Subi by a couple of goals.

Is the game going to be at Moss St again BC? Can’t see Leederville getting used with the weather forecasted…

Dela named but can’t see him playing and of the emergencies, only Ryan Borchet hasn’t been named in the ressies. So reckon he’ll come into the team instead of Dela leaving South to do the rucking.

At Leederville apparently Freez which is a bit strange as I would have thought there would be a ban on playing and training there from here on into the GF.

Given the decision to play the GF at Leederville it’s a crazy decision to play any games there between now and the GF. Both Freo ovals are free this weekend so could easily play ay either. Both teams are out of the finals so no issues with losing Home ground advantage. I know this is a sponsored fixture being the North Perth Community Bank cup for EP v Subi games, but getting the surface up to scratch should be the priority.

Forecast is for showers most of the day but it will be pretty windy 20-25k north westerly, then up to 30k SW early arvo.

I was just looking at the ressies team for tomorrow and noticed a young kid Bryce McDonald named at FF. He played colts last year apparently and is only 19 but at 202cm and 90kgs, he could be one for the future. Does anyone know anything about him?

Geez that’s a fair lump of a lad for 19. The big lads usually take some time to mature but worth keeping an eye on.
real shame that Putt did his collar bone, thought he’s really been building into some form, his half a game last week was one of the best for the club. he’s been playing a more physical style which was helping our mids get some space. Will be very surprised if Dela suits up, thought he was just coming back for his farewell game v Perth. Given the wet forecast we wont need the extra tall, Jones will dominate the hitouts anyway so best set our game plan to rove to him.

Good to see Jake Atkinson named in the ressies, very important player for us. Interesting to see Sandon Page named for the ferals, wasn’t aware that he switched over

The only reason would be if both Subiaco and the Royals have both agreed to hold said match there.
If the ground is in as bad a condition and unsuitable as some people say, why are these teams agreeing to use the ground!?
Is interesting to see Subiaco have a Home game in week 19 & the royals a home match in final qualifying matches. Will Leederville be used in those matches as well? Surely questions need asking about the unsuitability of the previous few weeks and yet the ground is apparently suitable today apparently!?

Nice to win again. Ground was very rough in places. Clinch was brave. Robertson is pretty frightening. Savigni had some nice moments. Giro good. liked borchet’s efforts. Kitch was calm. And Gus soccered beautifully.

Agreed JL. I actually liked Borchet playing up the ground as he gives us that extra bit of height through the middle. Clearly we missed an opportunity to do likewise with Nick Martin before he went to Essendon so no problems in trying to unearth these gems by playing them out of their normal position.

We were towelled up in the ruck as expected and it became a problem with centre clearances so the sooner we find a ruckman for next year the better. Giro good again in the wet and his wrap around handball receives makes him very dangerous as he’s good by foot as well.

Gus missed his calling..should be playing for the Glory. Savigni is progressing in leaps and bounds and will be a very good defender next year which is important considering our back 6 are nothing like they were last year.

Kitch scrapped it out and also impressed with Marsh’'s game. I thought he was pretty effective in moving the ball on through the middle and also the Hickmott’s are getting plenty of it but importantly their delivery and ball use is improving.

Overall a solid win which should give us a bit of momentum going into the last couple of games.

How did Sandon Page go for the ferals BC?

He was pretty quiet and only picked up a handful of possessions DG.

Thanks BC, good that he cracked a league game though

I thought I recognised Page. Game seemed a bit quick for him. Hopefully he will adjust, but he seemed to get caught between the play most of the game.
