Is it just me or did anyone else notice Mondays West was covered from front to back and even the game cover in bias eagles rubbish?? What i mean to say in a totally neutral view is that there happens to be another team in this state who won away again and currently sit 6th on the ladder?? Not a bad effort yet get little to no time in Mondays poor excuse of a paper??
“Eagles Soar” haha laughable at best after beating who some say are a wooden spoon candidate. Its not that i want to particularly want to read about freo but a little bit of variety wouldn’t go astray. I know i cant expect the quality of the herald suns write ups but please lets give credit where it is due and show a little more respect for Wa’s top team who unlike the Eagles will play finals. I wont even start on the quality of the coverage of the rest of our country’s great teams.
Gee Hawksta, you are a bit harsh on our great papers here in WA.very very unkind of you to bag them out like that.
Are you really saying that the West is biased!!!Get outta here.Really!!!
Some people have no idea.
Not even sure about that.I think if you look hard enough there you will even find a Pic of the Fying Fijian door mat. He’s every where,he’s every where.Chicken man.OOOOPs Nic Nat man.
Maybe from here in though the local press have a new pin up boy in Sharrod.
Pin-up boy or hair model? Yeah he absolutely dominated against the supreme pressure put on by an all star Bulldog outfit. Thought crowleys effort on that half decent player Gablett was worth more of a mention than nic nats double fisted spoil jeeze wonder if he has forgotten to mark the ball.
The two mainstream wa newspapers are both just advertising junk books as far as I am concerned! I give the west credit for their wafl coverage but did anyone notice not one word on wafl in the times on Sunday!
Our family has a bit of a game on Monday in that we try and “find the Docker” amongst all the Blue and Gold. Usually they are buried away in the middle pages of the Game. Otherwise it is like a West Coast supporters magazine. When NicNat blows his nose it is on the front page. All the coverage of Eastern States teams appears to be lifted from the Herald Sun. They are a laughing stock.
I am surprised they couldnt weave Nicnats name or picture into the Pendlebury v Crowley article.
They must be slipping.

TF if The West had to pay NicNat for every time his photo appeared in The West he would be a very rich man.
Cynically it coud be an indication of their bias towards the Eagles. More cynically it could be that by having a large photo it means that the journalist has to writer fewer words for his copy.
Interesting front page of the Sunday Times as well.Headlines in bold letters,DEATH ROW SOSnd along side it a half page pic of the flying regae head.
Maybe the Times thought that he could save who ever it was or is in trouble. He solves all other problems it seems.
The West Australian is a business, they are about making money. Obviously Nic Nat sells and if his picture is on the front, back or middle page of the paper it sells.
What you are asking the west to do is to take sales cuts so that you minority are happy? haha get off your high horse fellas.
Would the West swap a piece on Tiger Woods winning the Players Championship because Rummy won the Chinese Open?
Or maybe WCE get more coverage because they are actually a successful club? Bet you guys were the same ones whinging when Freo would get bad publicity back when they were cellar dwellers.
That last paragraph is total crap, I hope you are not the same imbecile on ABC radio from Saturday that reckons that the AFL victimised the WCE over Cousins and nothing will happen too Essendon because they are a Victorian club.
I agree Soprano. The surprising thing on this thread though, is the amount of people that have been forced into reading The West!! It’s not rocket science is it? If you don’t like it, DON’T READ IT. Simple solution really. Or is it just another avenue to bag the Coasters.
Maybe just maybe Nic Bat will be the season saviour for West Coast. So I can see why the West want to put their trust in him to deliver the goods for the state. Unfortunately we all don’t see the same realistic outcome here back end of 2013.
How is it crap? It happens all around the world, the more successful club gets more medis exposure because they are 1) more successful and 2) have a larger fan base. Just look at the EPL, Liverpool get a lot more exposure than Tottenham…it is a business remember!!
The Cousins issue is a complete different story, a lot of people will say the afl hung him out to dry, but hey its the afls rules so be it. But when there is other AFL players, namely from a Victorian club (libba jnr) who was actually caught with illegal drugs and was passed out on a street, i do not see how that incident is not bringing the game into disrepute like cousins? There have been other cases as well (michael johnson) and what do they get? A slap on the wrist and councelling…
Whatever you do Soprano don’t sheet home the blame to where it lies: the Eagles were completely aware of what was going on with respect to Cousins. Their selection or non-selection of Cousins did not require the same onus of proof as in a criminal case. Worsfold could quite easily have told Cousins you wil be playing at East Freo until you tidy up your act. He is a qualified pharmacist and should have been intimately aware of the dangers of long term drug use.
He and the Eagles chose not to because it was immediately affecting his playing and could not have cared less about his long term health. I am certainly not saying that if Worsfold had dropped Cousins it would not have continued down the same path. What I am saying it might have provided the incentive for Cousins to change his own behaviour.

Well I know I was.But that was still the same as now.The Eagles get far more press here in WA that the Dockers even though we are having some success. The West and the Times are actual sponsors of the WCE. So I guess we shouldn’t expect any thing else.
