The run home

I was just looking at the fixtures and out of the remaining 10 games we have 8 at Leederville including a round 20 away clash against EP which is essentially a home game anyway. That should set us up nicely for the finals and with a bit of luck get Borchet, Walters, Powell and Mayo back. The key will be not to lose too many games or players in the interim as our depth this year isn’t great. It’s just an interesting observation that we have a pretty good run into the end of the season.

Possibly too many games at home? Gets a bit repetitive. I enjoy an away game. Grand final won’t be a Leederville, assuming we make it. Could become set in our ways. We do have the best bar in the league though. That’s a bonus. Hazy ipa. 6 %. Drink with caution. Very very tasty. Club should provide tapas to accompany it.

That would be a wafl first.

…And that is because at the half way mark of the season, Subiaco only played three Home games thus far. Whereas some other clubs have currently played 5 or 6 Home games. It does beg the question.
Although it will even itself out, as Subi have a lot of Home games in the second half of the season.

It is a bit odd wag but one of those games is the cancelled round 4 fixture against WCER which is always going to be at home for whomever it is that plays them.

BC is it 7 or 8 games at Leedo? Strange fixturing, only the changed WCER game is an extra home game in the second half due to the Covid break.

  1. We only have other games at crackville and claremont

Also some pretty ordinary fixtures for our reserves and colts. They last played on June 5th and won’t play again until the 26th after a bye and this weekend’s game against WCE. It seems crazy to play WCE after a bye if the colts and ressies are taken into consideration…but it is the WAFC we’re talking about I guess. It makes it tough for guys returning from injury such as Borchet, Powell, Walters to get game time before returning to the seniors with those fixtures.

BC, maybe the club will play a combined colts ressies game to give the boys a run, would be better than no game and training is never quite as good as a game, even an intra club game.

So no lead up game before the league this weekend. The ladies finished 4th and play their final v Claremont at Claremont on Sunday.

There you go, just checked the clubs website and the Colts v Ressies play at 11.20.
