The Road to 2026

well that’s not entirely true
your club deliberately overpaid your captain Chris Bossong to keep him from being lured away by East Fremantle
$40000 fine

Move on.
Or shall we talk about CEOs caught with paper bags?

BS - they got caught cheating the system with an over payment and got treated with kid gloves stop moaning.

btw the second time for Perth, those paper bags are real at Perth not mythial made ones sunshine.

Geez some crap comes out some mouths.
Shall we talk about the paper bags in Fremantle Cafes?

Got any actual proof of that?

Guys is this really necessary? This topic was made in good faith not to be derailed by other nonsense.

Both teams made finals, 3 are left and good luck to those teams. Start another topic under WAFL General if you want to carry on about that stuff.

I wonder if we could coax Joey Chaplin back?

The balancing act for Brad Dodd and team will be something to watch. The club has to reward up and commers while maintaining a squad in both reserves and league that can go all the way. Egos will need to be massaged as for the first time in years as we have home grown talent who won’t appreciate being left out for outsiders of similar standing.

Saying that, besides Scobes and Preston-Coates I can’t think of any other local youngster with decent height - so maybe Chaplin would be good.

I’m not sure where Chaplin would fit in.
Derksen and Paton have provided a very potent forward line.
I think I want to see more of Preston-Coates, he is still only 21 yrs and is 197cms.
And a bit bigger body than Chaplin.

We fell short this year that tells me we need to get better to go that next step which means mote recruits, i’m sure Dodd will be all over it, there’s nothing in the current reserves team from what i can see , who cares about ruffling feathers its about winning flags.

SMTM, it’s a balancing act.
We have quite a number of promising youngsters who are finally being nurtured by someone that understands football development.
As I have said before, we need a raging bull, big bodied midfielder, preferably an A grader.
That is what I would be spending points on.
There is a lot of upside to what we already have.

Derksen brother had been delisted by GWS he may be a shout, wouldn’t be surprised if Narkle gets here one point player and good mates with the Geelong boys.

Narkle has moved to Darwin with family connections there.
He is a no, I would have thought.
I’d like him though.
If we are looking for a tall defender Wade Derksen may be an option.

Sounds very much like Zac slightly taller but both key forwards, again probably similar to Joey Chaplin. We couldn’t have all of them but I’m mindful of the possibility we lose Scoble in a draft. Just hope it’s not to our neighbours or Fremantle.

I don’t think anyone in the two’s in the tall department that is Perth zoned demands a league spot. Preston-Coates has been serviceable but only got his opportunities because of Johnnos’ injury.

All valid opinions on both sides. I see Jacob Roberts and Koby Evans remaining in Perth colours next year.

Derksen does indeed look good. Reports I see show 194cm and 197cm. Both good. Can play forward, back or wing apparently. I always think brothers play well together - never want to lower their colours. Is he aligned to Peel though?

No he was recruited by Peel from Darwin so not zoned to them.

With the recruitment of Glass- McCasker do we need another tall?
Wade does look like a likely customer, and maybe not cost too many points?
If we have points, an A grade midfield brute is our number one priority.
Our midfield needs a protector.
We need to get angry and aggressive.

Not sure Derksen has been de-listed yet….

Melbourne likely to pick up Derksen from GWS.

Swedgen right. Melbourne chasing Derksen, forget him.

Another midfield bull like Randell was supposed to be and another key position forward like Princess Jaiden was supposed to be to push us up to compete with the Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City of the WAFL.
