the departures start

Mitch Crowden going back to SA with his teaching degree!

Would not be losing too many I am guessing.

Anyone’s guess, some turnover is not unusual!

Crowden has certainly been the pick of the 8 recent recruits who have becoming senior team regulars, and we struggled in 2023 when he got injured late in the season and dropped from 1st to 5th.Fortunately Crowden, who has been on 1 year contracts, has been available every game this season where we’ve won half a dozen games by a kick or less, and it’s debatable whether we would’ve played finals let alone a Grand Final if he pulled the pin earlier in this season. So hopefully we don’t recruit players like Narrier and Elijah Taylor who our previous coach in 2022 was lumbered with, and regain Sebit Kuek who we lost in the stupid MSD of that year, where we were in the top 4,and Sebit was the form forward of the competition, but hopefully he can resurrect that form if he returns, but whether he returns with the right attitude is anybody’s guess.

rl, is there any guarantee he will want to stay with us? I know he automatically returns to the Club after de-listing as does Jordyn Baker, but whether or not we can keep them is another matter.

And no doubt, a few players will be added to the list over the off season.

The best part about Sebit OTO is the fact that he’s a 1 point player, and more importantly a player with X factor and PACE!!! which we glaringly lacked in the GF,although Sebit was taking screamers and kicking goals in that little purple patch, before the Dorkers snapped him up,my most memorable Sebit passage of play, was in the 2020 reserves GF when he made a scintillating run down the wing, leaving his grasping opponents in his wake, and after a few bounces slotted the goal from the boundary. The downside I suppose was his attitude and training punctuality, but if we can get that right he could be a huge asset,if he chooses to return.and is worth a punt because match winners like that don’t grow on trees.

Heard from a reliable source that Schumacher is leaving the Ferals and heading back to Vic.

Premiership window could have shut without Crowden and Schumacher.

That’s old news Melaka, even DD got wind of the rumour and broke it here a couple of weeks ago,but how’s you loyal clubman Dobbo going, has he recommitted to play for your Joondalup based club in 2025???

Do you mean Premiership player Dobbo

Depends on his work situation and if he wants to play WAFL footy or not.

Not Victoria, Adelaide. To be specific West Adelaide FC. Girlfriend is from Adelaide. Got it from someone connected to West Adelaide. Told me about job lined up.

North Adelaide won his signature apparently.

Apologies for the intrusion. Quick one for the old Royals fans. I was only a young bloke when he played, but did Steve Curtis ever wear a helmet? I can’t find any photos of him wearing one, but I’ve convinced myself he did.

I’ll answer that one for you
yes he did
remembering he started off very young 16 or 17
probably two or three years before he left for Port Adelaide
was a picture of him wearing one for PA

He certainly did,and that mongrel Johnny Duckworth wrenched it of his head and threw it in the crowd at a fiery Perth Oval Derby.I had to laugh as I saw Ducky working at Big Ian McCullochs dog swamp TAB more than a decade ago,and joked they used to kill each other on the field, but I think they’ve had a lifelong friendship stemming back from their Fitzroy days.

I’ve heard you mob have been caught after an audit. Will start 2025 season -8

watch this space.

Good to hear my mail a few weeks ago regarding midfielder Cooper and Key forward Middleton were right on the money. We may have lost our fairest and best and runner up,but if Cooper turns out to be a quality midfielder,Middleton could be the power forward we’ve been looking for, which would finally give us the quality goal to goal line you must have if your a genuine premiership contender.

Would probably need to bolster the midfield to push for finals. Rumour has it we might be starting with a points handicap also Lucky. Crowden is the one I don’t think we can cover for.

I am going to be brutal. Is Ben Middleton a need, want or power forward that we need. no no and no.
He is only 193 cm tall played 42 games and kicked 42 goals.
He is a poor mans Tom Medhat (192cm 61 games and 75 goals.)
Yes we have lost Zach Hill (192 cm) but With Sebit back and i would assume Mitch Schofield back from injury i am not sure of his role.
You would assume we will go with Tom Graham, Sebit and Schofield as our three main talls and Medhat our next best tall.
i see Middleton as depth unless somebody has left the building that we haven’t been advised of.
Like Larry i think Crowden is the one midfielder we will miss the most.
After the Grand final i thought we needed to refresh our midfield as we are not a very quick side and i thought we may have to offload somebody. I am worried about the chatter as we have some points to recruit at the moment but just waiting to see what will transpire.
