The Den’s opinion

When “The Den” says that he doubts whether the Eagles will make the 8, then you’ve got to believe it!!

…and then Kelly goes out for 4 to 5 weeks.

Then JK…

A win is a win I guess. It was meritorious considering the kids in the team, but I didn’t see anything that would scare the top 4 teams.

At this stage I think the best the Eagles could hope for this year is 5th or 6th spot and a home final. Credit to them for still performing despite being decimated by injuries. Carlton really had all the advantages leading into that game but they failed once again. Teague may be on shaky ground, given that Ross Lyon is hovering around another coaching job.

Sheed and Patrick Cripps share the same draft, Sheed may actually be going past Cripps now in value.

I put Sheed in the same category as Matty Priddis, similar type of player, not at all flashy, not at Mats level just yet but he is a disposal machine and generally hits his targets, better kick than Priddis and kicks goals, maybe not as much the in and under bull that Priddis was. Dom is now a very consistent performer and has stepped up a level in the absence of Shuey and Kelly.

And when The Den says the Fremantle Dockers will soon be the dominant team in the West, you’d better believe it sharkie.

Dennis Cometti says Fremantle Dockers will soon be dominant club in WA over West Coast Eagles | The West Australian

Yep, that has become pretty obvious over the last 3 weeks. Eagles will cop a few hidings from the dorks…..the wheel continues to turn.

Jeez after watching Fremantle tonight there’s plenty of question marks about there future also. … and their supporters seemed to be booing all night and thousands left the game before the final siren also!

Yep, if it looks like shit and smells like shit, it’s probably shit.

Really no point in putting up a link to an article thats behind a paywall…
As far as the Dockers go, most people are aware that they are streets behind a team like Geelong who must be flag favourites now that Richmond appear to be done and dusted. I think Longmuir has made definite progress in the 2 years given the clubs plight when Lyon left. Tonight was the first real flogging I can remember them getting for a long time. The quality of the team is there, supporters need to be patient. I think the Eagles still have a superior list but they are not getting the best out of them this year so to say the Dockers are going to “dominate” them is a long bow IMO.

Agree they are still a bit behind the Weags, but over the next 2 years I think that will change as the Eagles list has plenty of football seniors on it.

Docker supporters booing? Nah, It was probably some Eagle supporters and then they left the game early.

I reckon that’s a Monty. I don’t think Freo are that bad tbh. A couple more years and they’ll do alright. Eagles will have to drop down the list to enable them to head up again. As I said, the wheel turns.
