Hearing a rumor Casson can’t find a spot for Wylie in WA 2026/27 squad….yeah the youngster has stagnated, but surely under a new boss the youngster would be keen to impress, and given a chance to show it. Not the case it seems, the former 2IC is no different in thinking from his former boss. No doubt Sam and Cam are safe….thank fudge for that.
Have heard the same, Teague has missed out on a WA contract and the Victorian contract everyone thought he had been offered doesn’t seem to be there yet either.
I am not sold on the idea of keeping both those players ahead of Teague, while he has flat lined a bit he is only young and plenty of growth left in him.
Its probably going to be better for Teague if he goes to another state for a fresh start, similar to Phillipe. WA will continue to flounder with the players who have not delivered over the past few seasons
New Contracts:
Cricket Australia contract: Cam Green, Josh Inglis, Mitch Marsh.
State contract: Cameron Bancroft, Mahli Beardman, Hilton Cartwright, Cooper Connolly, Brody Couch, Joel Curtis, Kieran Elliot, Sam Fanning, Jayden Goodwin, Aaron Hardie, Liam Haskett, Will Malajczuk, Tom Murray, Lance Morris, Joel Paris, Jhye Richardson, Corey Rocchiccioli, Ashton Turner, Sam Whiteman.
Rookie contract: Simon Budge, Albert Esterhuysen, Jordan Quiggin, Corey Wasley.
Off: Cameron Gannon (returns to Queensland), Teague Wyllie, Bryce Jackson, Matt Kelly
Can anyone explain to me why Bryce Jackson has lost his state contract when he was the leading wicket taker for WA in the one day cup?
Same reason as to why WA won back to back spoons…..the powers above have NFI sadly mate. As you said earlier mikeh, hopefully a change of environment brings the best out of Wyllie….which would be great for the young fella…..and Aust cricket.
Also off the list are Baxter Holt and Keaton Critchell
He was never given a go in red ball cricket despite being the leading white ball wicket taker the last 2 seasons.
Bowls at a reasonable clip, swings the ball, is tall so gets bounce, just yet another head scratcher.
No doubt he and Wyllie will head East and dominate!
Hopefully for Aust sake Wyllie does mate….
Jackson to NSW and Wyllie to Tasmania?
Smart by Jackson - he will get a baggy blue with his Baggy green
Looks like Teague has signed with Tassie.
I wonder if his manager had anything to do with this really. Hearing he was asking for a 3-year deal from WA and they offered him 1. Wouldn’t surprise me if he was the one starting the Victoria rumours post-Christmas either.
Well,he and his Manager happily accepted 2 for him to join Tassie.
Glad it wasn’t New South Wales.
Wish Bryce well on an individual basis.
You know, good batting and bowling figures whilst New South Wales lose.
Not his Fault.
2 is better than 1 for any professional sports person.
I wonder why WA wouldn’t offer 2 years to a player they have developed and is a local.
Some interesting decisions being made by WA Cricket
