T20 World Cup.

The United Arab Emirates and Oman are hosting the T20 World Cup.In the first 11’games of the 45 match tournament seen Bangladesh, Scotland,Nambia,Sri Lanka .Elevated to the Super 12 tournament.
Game 12 of 45 the start of the super 12 format.Seen Australia in a hard fought win over South Africa.
Both sides bowled and fielded well. But runs where hard to score. On a funny coloured two paced wicket.Lucky for the Aussies two experienced batsman finished of with 2 balls to spare.
,Stoinis and Wade got the job done.Big holes in the batting line up atm.
Game 13 seen England easily beat the West Indies.Windies all out for 46.
Tonight the big one.India v Pakistan.India under enormous pressure to boycott the match. After a border despute between the two nations,a few days ago in Kashmir. With a dozen Indian military personnel killed. However the ICC is determined to play, with the potential massive Tv audience.

Afghanistan looked pretty awesome last night. Granted it was only Scotland that they were pummelling and I would like to see how they go against India and Pakistan but they have a powerful batting unit, some serviceable medium pacers and in Mujeeb and Rashid Khan arguably the two top spinners in the world in this format. Luckily the Aussies aren’t in their group because their batsmen would be really struggling against these guys after watching them get in a tangle against the South African spinner. I think in group A, England will be one qualifier and the other spot is wide open. In group B, Pakistan’s victory over India has also thrown this group open although there are only 4 teams in the hunt. Scotland and Namibia are not threats.

Been some great matches.Pakistan v Afganistan,West Indies v Bangladesh,SriLanka v South Africa.
England apsolutley smashed Australia last night.Looks like a long Ashes series this year.

Totally different games Gtrx. England have been number 1 in the world in the 20/20 format for a number of years whereas Australia has struggled to put together victories. Really means nothing for the ashes. Pakistan are looking the main threats to England’s chances of winning the tournament but I wouldn’t write off India even though they got soundly beaten in their opening game. Crucial game tonight between India and NZ which may determine the other semi finalist from group 2.

Gtr…Buttler is very hit and miss at test cricket…as is Bairstow…Roy did fark all in his test appearances…none of those 3 have temperament or technique to build an innings…they only know how to smash them…with the ball well 4 overs is usually Livingstone limit…Ali and Rashid like Zampa are 4 -10 over bowlers max…any more and they go for runs…

Eng are fantastic to watch at this level…Aust not so…saying that two wins over Bangladesh and the WI…a SA loss to Eng…and Aust will be playing Pakistan in a T20 semi…and looks like Eng v NZ in the other after that India choke…not saying Aust are a chance, but they could stupidly getting another chance to play Eng in the final…Will Eng play as well as that again?..

T20 form means absolutely nothing in Test Cricket terms but having said that and with Ben Stokes now available (and who know’s possibly Archer ???) England will be formidable opposition again for an Australian team that were horrible last summer in red ball cricket and still havent sorted out their batting line up woes!

So much for India! NZ made them look 2nd rate and will more than likely be 2nd in group 2. The semi finals will probably be England V NZ and Pakistan V Australia or South Africa. Pakistan won’t be shaking in their boots at the prospect of either team!

Let us hope the test attack is uninjurred playing KFC cricket.

Farrrk how did they pull that off? I had to pull the pin to get some shut eye but after seeing Warner walk without challenging the caught behind decision he clearly missed by a big margin on replay, I thought here we go another batting choke by the Australians.

Lucky we only have the Poms this summer who are sending out an even worse side then the ones that have managed a draw and 9 losses in their last ten tests on these shores.

Was a fantastic semi final..On another night Pakistan might of nailed thoes run-outs.Great tournament by Pakistan

Australia has exceeded all expectations so far.We will see how we go against the Kiwis.

Geez not sure how Aust are T20 champs, but hey that just sums up that format of the game. Great bowling by Hazelwood, Zampa and Cummins…not so by Starc…0/60 is beyond bad…as for the batters, Warner got Aust off to a good start, Finch…well Finch did fark all…Well done Mitch of teasing Aussie fans with his talent…and Maxwell came in to ice the win…always good to beat the Kiwi’s…

Williamson and Boult were fantastic…the rest of the Kiwi’s very much like Starc and Finch for Aust…mediocre at best…JL will be crowing “I told you all so”'…sorry JL, but Starc and Finch were crap…hopefully those two and Smith have finished their T20 careers for good…T20 champs…who would of though that, leaving Bangladesh a few months back…LOL

Pretty good summation Freezin, found it hard to believe that Zampa didn’t get player of the tournament, don’t think Australia would have made the semis without his input, let alone win the whole thing. Having said that Warner had a great couple of weeks and proved that he is now more than just a bash artist, he actually thinks through the game situation and plays accordingly, Mitch has also matured in a similar way. Also Hazlewood was brilliant for the entire tournament and there were cameos from Stoinis, Wade, Cummins and Marsh.
Langer was grinning like a cheshire cat at the end of it all but he would know that this victory will be a distant memory should we have our arses handed to us in the ashes this summer.

Gee Marsh looks a completely different player in this format. Looks extremely confident. Hopefully he can carry that into the long format. I can’t see why he can’t. Warner has done it, that’s how Warner started, as a slog artist plucked from grade cricket. Marsh’s first three balls 6, 4, 4. Wow.

The wicket for the final was a little slow ,and two paced..That made our batting performance even better.
Maby all we needed was a hiding from England. To kick us into gear..
Also shows the quality of the big Bash.We can elevate the better players to international level. And win World Cups.
