One of the best wins I have seen at Basso Oval for many years. We were unstoppable late. Prob on a par with a game approx ten years ago against the same opponent when we were close to 10 goals down just after half time but with a much stronger side named that day were able to turn the game around.
I cant believe the difference from first half to the second half. Love to know what the change was apart from Perth completely turning off.
Yesterdays results have given Swans season a bit of a lifeline as we are only one game out of the top 5. Also the injury situation appears to have stabilised a little with by my reckoning only Jye Chalcraft, Pina and Ireland as the league players out at the moment although I might have missed one or two.
More players available means more competition for spots and with our reserves team playing so well many of the players in that team have been pushing for selection. Blake Kelly and Ethan Kane both acquitted themselves very well on Saturday after being promoted.
Swans will need to string together a number of victories in the next month or so to stay in the hunt for finals
Yes complete turn around was anyone able to hear half time or three quarter time speeches. First half was bad football all around. Swan came out a different side . Third term just held Perth back by pressure on the ball carrier. Last quarter the best quarter of football this year with out⁵doubt. Dont know what happened to Perth after there early season form I thought they would be stronger. Also our yong guy really committed to the pressure of the game well done. Not there yet but a good insight into the future.
Chalcraft, Pina, Ireland, O’donohue, Chipper, Cartwright, Taylor, Erceg all out injured on the weekend plus the long term injured E.Smith, Ehlers, Reiger….Good to see the likes of T.Smith, Tester & Fitzgerald back from injury play on the weekend.
He was recruited from Carey Park. From 1986 to 89 Swans recruited Troy Ugle, Steven Bazzo, Michael Hastie and Glen Dehring from Carey Park. Troy is the only one still amongst us.
