Round 2 v East Perth - in front for a lot of the game but over run in the end
Round 3 V West Perth - slow start but didn’t cost us
Round 4 V West Coast - slow start which did cost us
Round 5 v Claremont - see round 1
Round 6 v East Fremantle - Comfortable win against a banged up opposition
Can’t really fault the effort in any of the games. Skills and Decision making have been the killers. Can’t help thinking that the loss V West Coast will come back to bite us on the bum. Win that and we would have been 3 - 3.
Next two weeks after the state game will probably tell the tale of the season. Subiaco and Perth at home, neither of them will be easy but we must try and dig in and put in 4 quarters of football in both games.
Yes, the next 2 matches are defining games for Swans. They are capable of winning them. Also heard Swans expecting some of the regulars to slot back into the side which will be s bonus.
S v swans will be a good game next week. I think both sides, along with a few other teams, will close the gap on the tiges if and when they get a few good players back
That would be good if that happens. It’s a big game for swans this week. Do we turn our season around and start a winning streak. Or go back to being happy with nearly getting there but not quite. Our last game showed we can play for longer than one or two quarters. Time to show up after a break and get the job done.
Personally, I would welcome him back at EP. Other will scoff but he just understands the culture and the requirements. Also, a new Team Manager might see his opportunities in a different light
One feels Swans season currently at the crossroads. They have 2 Home matches, then an Away game. Hopefully they can string some consecutive wins together. Their next four matches are all winnable.
Many would welcome Miller back to East Perth, Grump. He was our Premiership Reserves Captain last season and I really hope someone at East Perth at least has a talk with him.
Maybe the departing Football Manager, with one last gesture before he leaves next week.
How does he get picked up mid season when swans won’t give him a league game.. already ruined his chances once and happy to do it again with not giving him a look in at league
SS very air question but watching him in the 18’s/20’ game he clearly showed he was a cut above most others in the 20’s side. I would not be surprised if a vfl club figures this player is a good bet to develop.
Getting back on the actual topic I would grade our season to date an F (Fail) possibly a D- at best. The skill level is still appalling, the overuse of handball is infuriating, the coaching and development horrible, the on field leadership non existant!
Things are not going to get easier in the next few weeks. Perth at home followed by Peel in Mandurah. Eagles at home is a winnable game but otherwise more defeats unless there is a massive upswing in performance
