Swans Anzac match

Can someone explain how Swan Districts are playing this match as an Away game. Or have they been forced to do so!?

West Coast have found a way to play 9 Home Games, when one of the premises of their entry into the WAFL was only half that.

How’d they swing that I wonder?!

Their first 5 games are at Lathlain. East Perth there as well next weekend. Stlll Swans can play them in Gingin as far as I care as long as we come home with the 4 points!

As long as Swans are not being set up to fail. Nothing should be a surprise nowadays.

Disappointing result in the context of the season overall but also in the fact that it’s a loss against a privileged team of wankers and their seven or eight main character syndrome supporters that always seem to receive culture shock when they sit with Swans’ supporters. The non-start was the killer - you cannot have a scoreline 7 goals to 1 and expect to win - but after that for most of the game Swans were the better team. But the mistakes - constantly handballing at players’ feet, dropped marks, poor kicking - were just as fatal. But the spirit of Kelly, Lynch, Macca, and Petric to a lesser degree got us to the lead late in the last only to lose it. Some very good passages but let down by poor kicking at goal.

Okay, Collins and Taylor didn’t play because of injury or were they dropped? I hope the former for both, but if the later, that means the Macca, Lynch and Kelly are all in the seconds next week. Collins and Taylor were missed, and even though I have had time for him as a trier, they if fit are better selections than Stephens.

Umpire number 3 is either a cheat, incompetent, or both.

SH Collins, Taylor & O’Donohue were all out injured from last week adding to an injury list already consisting of Kohlmann, Ireland, Pasini, Cartwright, Chalcraft, E.Smith, T.Smith, Tester, Ehlers, Reiger etc.

The umpiring in the WAFL is an absolute disgrace, today was nearly the cream of the cake in ineptness, we have lost the free kick count in every game this year and are -25 in for and against, no other side even comes close!

Thanks for the information BH.

State 18’s against Swans Reserves was BIZARRELY played on the Outer Oval.

What was the reason for that?

Even though a 1 point loss is always unlucky, its still a loss and now were looking down the barrel of a thumping by a white hot Claremont and 1 win 4 loss start. Injuries are a factor but it seems that Swans get affected every year and much more than other clubs it seems. Same script different year

I feel your pain! Just look at East Fremantle’s injury list with over 20 unavailable!

Would not be surprised if we add another to the injury list. Impey did not play the last quarter and I suspect it was due to concussion. I suppose the only way will will know is when the team is selected on Thursday.

Is it the way they are training ? Or the medical staff making mistakes. And Kolmmon not spelt right. Was going on there. Over eight months since his last game. No report from the club. It’s like closed doors hush hush no news about injured players.

They treat members and supporters with contempt as far as providing information about injuries and player availability and that has been the case for years

We would have around the same number if I listed all of those unavailable through injury across the senior squad, I only listed the one’s who have played League Football so far, missed Howard too who is currently the runner!

I get the feeling the club is too embarrassed to post up the exact injury toll as thats now 3 of the last 4 years that the numbers have been ridiculously high!

I reckon you guys should ask for Tommy Edwards’ return on May 28 if Brad Scott is going to muck him about in the backline.

I am perplexed with this situation happening over and over BH. One season of this is probably just bad luck, 2 seasons you might start looking at the way they are training pre season but 3 seasons out of 4???What is going on? By the time we get anything close to our best 22, the season will be done and dusted and the cycle will begin again

You and me both Mike.

Surely they have to be doing an investigation into why we are continually suffering constant injuries from week to week. Is it training, is it surface???

Some of the guys havent played since last season, Pasini had a knee reco so that is 12 months recovery, but Chalcraft, Kohlmann, Tester, T.Smith, E.Smith, Ehlers, Howard all must be not far off being the same time frame since they last played WAFL footy. Then Collins & Ireland finally get back on the park and they’re injured first game back ffs!

You guys have a unique surface that nobody else has.

As opposed to the typical Swan Coastal sand we deal with,The Guildford Clay and Mud that makes Bassendean different to ALL other surfaces, save Leederville who many say Malthouse had turned into a Victorian Style mudheap.

But surely that has been fixed by now after some serious fine tuning?

But back to Bassendean,…did the surface cop a beating after that early downpour in March? If your injuries are surface related, that might explain it?

You’d hope your Training and Medical Staff are spot on in what they do.Player preparation for Training and Playing,…I guess a bit of an urgent thinktank is in order, whatever the cause of mounting Injury Lists.

Mind you,I reckon a few Clubs would be potentially considering that.

The injuries are affecting the team’s ability to win games, but they are no excuse for those out there that are fit and wearing the guernsey to not kick straight to a man or to handball at your teammate’s feet. These are basic skills that are not the domain of those that are presently injured but should be achievable by all - but they are not. But despite the poor skills, there was nothing wrong with the heart on the weekend.

Yep its been a constant discussion point amongst us after every game the last couple of years the poor skill level, if only they could tidy it up!
