Subi v Gummy’s Away

Tried hard but shades of last year with basic skill errors. Not just bombing away to the forwards like last year which is good but took it a bit far in the closing minutes which cost the game. Kelman obviously should have had a shot.

Blight looked sore af hopefully he’s ok, good to see a couple of big blokes kick a few in the magoos, although the opposition was bad. I recon J Farone or Gathercole in for Kelman and if Blight is out big Finlay Henderson in. Schofield and Will Bravo will make a big difference when fit

Blight played like he was concussed

i thought that last shot on goal went Douglas-giro-borchet? But could be wrong.

No it was Kelman I’m sure

It went Siano- Kelman- Borchet I’m pretty sure

Kelman went to the senior man. He really needed to say, I’m in a better position. I know I can kick this. It’s only 40 m out. Perfect conditions.

Why Borchett thought snapping on his left was a gift idea, I don’t know.

Though didn’t miss by much.

The first and last misses of the day both cost you 5 points

Im one to credit wins but not aportion blame on losses,

but if pressed, id put the heat on the on-field leaders.

Last few minutes were a composure-free zone.

But its a young side learning a new system, there will be inconsistency and mistakes

I Expect a bounce back and the pressure, overlap run, forward handball and prettier i50’s this Sunday

Borchet has been woeful the first two weeks to be honest. I’m looking forward to him impacting the game again soon!

I am surprised Subi didn’t flog EF…..especially after the preseason Subi have had, a top coach, strong recruiting and first up win v EP. EF depth is on the bare bones of it’s arse…..lost their 3 top goal scorers from 2025, their best mid a month before round 1, their premiership ruckman to an ACL and one of their prime defenders in round 1.

Just look at EF reserves, flogged in both games so far, playing a bunch of players, who really aren’t even best 23 for the club reserves or colts sides……still scratching my head how EF got over the line there…..as the Subi fans have rightly said….huge opportunity & 4 pts lost.

Because they reverted back to old behaviours, as Schoey commented. They are searching for consistency

Freeze you have picked up 2 good forwards. Smart recruiting.

Both have started well, Smartt came with an AFL CV….whilst Robinson came out of Norwood’s reserves….the latter has definitely surprised me…..early days but pleased with both.

The Subi young ruck looks a goer…..definitely suited to the new ruck rule……very mobile indeed

Yes freez. Rickson is a good young talent and I have no doubt the scouts are keeping an eye on him. Plenty of upside with his size and ability given he’s only 19.

A bit small for a ruckman at the next level but could develop into a KPP in time.

It’s been interesting to watch him the first two games. Comes across to me as a real goer, plenty of energy in his play and a great leap.

He seems to play more as an in and under midfielder once the ball hits the ground. First game had 10 handball and no kicks.

Did get a few kicks in the second game but what is standing out to me is zero marks over two games. Surely with that height and if a possible key position player he needs to be strong overhead. Think back to the days of Keene & Scott, very different with a lot of marks taken by our rucks

Mate we haven’t had a marking ruck since Zac Clarke
