Subi v ferals

No Taj Schofield, ruckman Edwards, Braut or Lockyer. Very short down back and lack a couple of good rotations through the middle.

Forward line looks the strongest, so by my reckoning if we get within 10 goals of EP, I’ll be impressed.

Yep BC looking like a flogging but strange things happen round 1

Seems like we already have a fair injury list to key players. Some regulars on this list unfortunately
Schofield
Foley
Braut
Lockyer
Edwards
Berenger
plus Evitt returning in the ressies

Who are shearer and Walker? Taj was our best pre season by far.

Richards looked ok.

Travis Shearer played a couple last year I think.
Hudson Walker from the colts.

The team listed on Subi’s email looks a little different.

No Eaton and Berenger in?

Strange Berenger wasn’t listed league or dags on Thursday night

…and according to the wafl site we have no injuries atm. Bout time the club sent an update to them, most other clubs have updated

A 9 goal third term has our ressies 40 points up. Richard Bartlett and Koopa Walsh getting amongst it.

Not a bad effort, we had our chances but couldn’t capitalise on our forward entry’s, same problem as previous years.

Wagenkent came off so Mayo had to ruck which didn’t help matters up front, although Mayo played a good game against Jones the giant

We should be better when Edwards and Eaton are back

Agree DG. It was a good effort considering who was missing and we were down a rotation early when the wagon driver went down.

Biggest positives for mine was the return of Giro and debut of May. Giro gives us that pace through the middle which we’ve been lacking in recent seasons and is terrific by hand and foot. May was very good first up and at 198cms and 21yo, reckon he could be a target of WCE or similar in the MSD.

I liked the forward pressure of Robbins, Mayo and Borchet impressed but need some height and experience down back.

We certainly weren’t embarrassed and have something to build on although we still have trouble with that last kick into forward 50. Bombing it in just doesn’t work which we’ve all been saying for the last several years.

More good than bad takeaways from that performance which is a positive sign.

Yes, better than expected. I really like Mullane and Savigni across half back. Both good in the air and brave. Kids looked pretty good, too.

I missed the memorabilia in the clubroom after the game. The one screen showing photos was too far away.

Turns out Dermie is the step dad of May and he added some celebrity to the post match beers and presentation. The last time I saw Dermie in the subi rooms was after the Subi Hawthorne game in 1986. I think Zanotti got the better of him that day.

Ha, I was there too JL. I remember he swanned in way after everyone else and was wearing an outlandish huge fur coat. A lot of ‘look at me’.

Yes, I seem to remember that coat.

I think Clinton Brown played on him that day, played great too!
