Freo did us a favour by taking Fyfe, Darcy and Draper with them but based on what I saw last Saturday, think we’ll still struggle against a undermanned FART. I see Cooley is back in and we’ve lost May obviously but no other big changes of note. Gathercole in from West Perth for his first game for the club. Interesting to see how he goes. Subi by a point.

Like your optimism. We won down there last year. No one knows how that happened. And I was there.
That was a decent effort by the boys. Liked the debutant from west perth. The young boys continue to improve. They all have a little bit of pace.
Mayo getting stronger every game. Taj moving well. Braut getting better. Thought they worked well as a team.
Maybe Peel were a weak team and you only play as well as the opposition let you, but you couldn’t fault the effort.
But for some poor kicking for goal, we would have won that one.
Had a chat with Shane Yarran’s brother after the game who reminded me Shane played for both sides.
Agree JL, couldn’t fault the effort by the boys, Gathercole was the lad from Joondy, looks like a good pick up, Clark was very good again against a loaded Peel midfield with fulltimers like Brodie and O’driscoll plus the man mountain Reidy dominated at the stoppages, Edwards just not big enough or strong enough to compete with guys like this.
They say bad kicking is bad footy and in this case it cost us the game, but there were genuine signs of an improvement in skills and speed of ball movement.
4.10pm start next week at leedo v a rampant Tigers who destroyed the D’s, so it aint getting any easier.
