On the subi website. What a contribution this man made to the club! I know only the bare bones of his involvement. Heart and soul of the club, I would say. Club great, for sure.
One of the last links to the past. My late father loved nothing more then chatting old footy times with him. He always took the time to say hello after my dad passed.
RIP Basil and condolences to his family, Only met him a couple of times ,but always a gentleman.
I think the title to this thread says it all. He was indeed a legend of the club helping to turn things around when we were a basket case in the 60s, 70s into a WAFL powerhouse today. RIP Basil and thank you for your service, hard work and love of the Subi Footy Club.
Well said gentlemen and indeed it’s a very sad start to the 2024 season for the club that Basil was so incredibly passionate, loyal and committed to for the vast majority of his life both in official capacities and selfless volunteer capacities.
In many ways he was the heart and soul of the club both in tough times and great times.
I chatted to Basil many times over the years and he was always very friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and happy to answer questions which I really appreciated.
I would like to express my condolences to his wife and family on their sad and unexpected loss.
RIP Basil…you have done your beloved Subi Footy Club proud and I’m sure you’ll be tuning in from somewhere out there shouting “Go you mighty Lions!!”.
