Hey outer how many did Subi have in 2008? I`ll save me looking.
Swan Districts had 8 players in the WA team against Victoria on June 20, 1964, then 7 against Tasmania and South Australia on the same trip. It ended up costing Swans a place in the 4 at the end of the season as Fred Castledine missed 6 weeks with an injury he sustained against Victoria, and other players came back with minor injuiries but kept on playing anyway.
In an article in the Sports Review on May 22, 1964, Mick Cronin wrote in his weekly column that he would pick Swan Districts for the State Team, with a few other players to plug a few gaps. His team was:
B Nesbit, Sarre, Atwell
HB Rogers, Casteldine, France
C Chadwick, Turnbull, Whinnen
HF Kilmurray, Bagley, Scott
F Slater, Gorman, Walker
R McIntosh, Spalding, Bunton
Int Casserley, Hampson
That Swans side was a beauty with lots of stars.
Mick Cronin? Go back to school. No Cable in the side? He won the Sandover that year didn’t he?
