Anyone going to this game in a few weeks? Just wondering about the level of interest here. It is apparently a sell out so its certainly hit the spot with a lot of people. The standard should be pretty high even though its a preseason match and the old WA v Vic rivalry seems to be stoked by some of the participants
No doubt I will watch it, but as for paying to see it,no way.
Concerned by Lyons comments .We have a few sore boys, and we will not play them.Be interesting to know who they are.
Sounds very familiar.
its about time it came back and they need to incentivise it so we get it every year! can’t beat old fashioned rivalries and disappointing this one fell by the wayside.
Always said it should be 1st week in October.
You might get the odd Speing Stinker weather wise.
But a 25 C Day would bring the crowds out for such an event,to see out the Season.
And if Injuries did occur,at the very least, there’s 5 months before the following Season commences in earnest.
Clubs would be less hesitant to release players with even the slightest niggle.
Eg Harley Reid.
I’m not sure we will ever capture the level of interest we had, when the games were played on a Tuesday,in the Pre Eagles days.In those days we had to settle for watching the ABC WINNERS,to see the best players in the land, and I don’t think the public sees the players and rivalry in the same awe and reverence, particularly since the early days when the Eagles were a pseudo state team, before Malthouse killed it off, once and for all.
I think it gives the players something to aspire to. I’ve thrown in my Kayo, but will probably watch it if it’s fta. The big thing for me is hoping none of the Eagles players get injured.
There’s already one or 2 on the sidelines nursing injuries, coughs and colds.

LOL 58…that’s if there are any Eagles, good enough to be selected in the first place mate
Think Baker is in.
Vics have opened up at 1.38 and WA 3.00 which has probably been assessed on the quality of the respective squads, rather than I’m guessing, weight of money.
Maybe WA with a +17.5 start at 1.90 might be the way to go.
I have ZERO officiating capacity in this game, but probably still would NOT be allowed to touch this game at the purple shop, with a Barge Pole!
When i look at the squads,WA looks very thin in the midfield.
Yeah true…only teasing my old mate 58 Anchor…
Fantastic result and huge interest being a sell out…well done to all those that supported the return of true state of o.
I would imagine there’s 1 or 2, but I’d be guessing. I haven’t been following following this one.
Sorry but a Barry Manilow concert will be more interesting!
Each to their own mate…but Barry Manilow?..harsh Grump…harsh indeed.
Cannot compare the game or event (which is a better description) to credible singers or bands,
