Looks like Souths have been fined and will lose 8 premiership points this season. I believe its to do with the 2021 season. Cant say to much moor.
Absolute disgrace, They should be booted from the comp.

Sad day for the WAFL, Souths claim an admin error, but $25k fine, loss of 10 player points, reduced salary cap and loss of 8 competition points, and while I dont know all the details, it would suggest something vastly more serious than an simple office mistake. Joondy claimed that and got a fine, Perth got a $20k fine for cap irregularities as did Peel (twice) and Swans were also in trouble. Any suggestion that Souths be kicked out is ludicrous, they have received a substantial punishment and will have to live with what they have done and the reputation damage they have brought upon themselves.
As a Subi supporter and member who’s club has endured endless baseless unsubstantiated claims of salary cap abuse, I would suggest anyone from any club and particularly those mentioned above will cease these groundless accusations and the use of the $ sign when ever Subi is mentioned in a post.
You’re a braver man than me SS as no doubt they’ll be looking at other clubs very closely too including Subi.
BC given Subi’s extended run of success, do you not think we would have been the most investigated club in the comp?
If Subi were ever found to have cheated the salary cap, I’ll be first in line to hand in my membership. There are unsubstantiated rumours that an ex SF player dropped them in the shite. How many ex Subi players are out there, some who didn’t leave on great terms who could have dropped a bomb if there was one to be dropped. It was an ex Perth player who dropped them in the poo after moving to Souths.
What’s this about the Perth player. Can you elaborate a bit more SS as I’m unfamiliar with what you are talking about
Admin has banned people here for less than this idiot has posted.
As some others have mentioned on here, Chris Bossong may have been the player who walked from Perth and went to the accountancy challenged club. It is suggested he may have said something …allegedly of course.
This is what the South Freo CEO said
Britt explained one of the breaches was an administrative error, but said the other was to do with “compassionate and humanitarian payments” to a player who suffered a horrific long-term injury late in the year which saw him miss the entire 2022 season and unable to work for an extended period.
The WAFC have also confirmed that they will not conduct an audit on South Fremantle’s 2020 premiership season
I’d guess that player was Zac Dent so it would confirm there’s been no playing benefit to the club , we’ve actually been one player down during the entire period
if that’s the crime then I’ll wear this one easily
Does this provision which South mentions exist in the WAFL’S rules? If not, me thinks the said provision should be added to revised rules. What South should have done is confirm the rule at the time. Equally, if the rule existed already, South’s penalty should be reversed.
