The late great Percy Johnson was a massive Schofield fan and said it was a disgrace he is not an AFL coach. Subi fans might be best to comment. From what I heard he is a hard nosed coach who drives high standards. As a footballer he was very talented and smart.
I don’t think any other club in the AFL would have tolerated this win/loss record over the last 3 years. I think he will coach them till the end of the season, then they will come to a “mutual agreement” then
The Eagles don’t discard their coaches easily like other clubs, they have only had 4 coaches in the last 34 years whereas other clubs would have had quite a few more in that time.
Schofield has done his apprenticeship and I think he would be favourite to take the coaching job if and when it becomes vacant
Peter German set the standard at Subi but Schofield took it to the next level. After listening to him address the players at the breaks, he is a very no-nonsense type coach who demands excellence and lets anyone who is not putting in know where they stand.
I have no doubt he could make a very good senior coach at AFL level with apprenticeships under Hinkley and Simpson giving him a good basis.

I have always liked Adam Simpson and his honesty at press conferences and today was no exception. He handled a difficult situation with grace and class. A contrast to Ross Lyons snarly performance when he was sacked by the Dockers
Apparently the Eagles have offered Simpson to coach one more game as a farewell at Optus against Brisbane. I think that would be a massive mistake. Once you have checked out you have checked out and would make a mockery of the decision.
If it was the last game of the season then ok but with 7 rounds to go they need to let the interim coach start now otherwise it only delays the process.

Now that they have picked Schofield as Interim coach, they should give him all the time possible to show his credentials. Simmo is gone so why would he coach a farewell game after being sacked? People can pay tribute to his record in other ways.

GTRX Tim Kelly is the biggest mistake WCE have ever made.
Paid way over his real value.
Geelong were laughing, he was a very good player in a side, which at the time had one of the best mid-fields in the Comp.
WCE’s midfield has been nowhere near the same quality.

It was a photo of Danielle Laidley as I thought he/she would be an excellent choice as the next Eagles coach as a former Eagles player and with previous experience at North’s, plus he/she could provide advice to the WAGs on hair, makeup and lipstick.
