Sam Darcy suspected ACL (is that his second?), Libba concussion, Lobb hamstring and O’Donnell never heard of him hamstring and a second loss on the trot and another belting after starting the season looking like premiership fancies.
Just wondering if that 2nd Half EFFORT by Essendon sent their fortunes South from there,…
Just goes to show how fast one’s seasons fortunes can change. Whilst Darcy’s injury was relatively early on, Geelong were killing the WBD by then…..and they were well behind by the time Libba, Lobb and O’Donnell got injured.
O’Donnell is the son of ex Aussie all-rounder Simon O’Donnell, who I think played footy for St Kilda at one point. O’Donnell and Khamis are the WBD key backs, both skinny as, only a matter of time before a decent key forward got hold of them and kick a bag on them…..
Darcy hasn’t done an ACL before, last year it was a suspected ACL, but then ended up being a fractured knee from memory. Going to a nervy time for the WBD fans, but looked innocuous and nasty at the same time. Any injury is not well received at the best of times, but even worse when one of the stars of the game gets an injury….especially a long term one.
