Just turned on the TV in time to see the great catch by Josh Inglish. Incredible catch.
8/122 st the moment. 2 overs to go
big crowd at the MCG tonight. Hazlewood pretty much destroyed the game in the first 7 overs. Fantastic catch by Inglis. I reckon Carey wouldnt want to have a slump in form in the test series, Inglis is right on his hammer.
Looks like Mitch Marsh has sealed his Ashes openers spot after that match winning 40 odd of hisā¦no doubt George et al are thinking the sameā¦
Think the poms will be salivating at the prospect Freezin. When was the last red ball game that Mitch played?
I reallyy donāt think he will even be looked at. But I have to say that at long last he appears to be very comfortable with where he is cricket wise.
He appears to be very happy playing the shorter games.
Only time will tell.
Leave him to play the shorter format then Anchorā¦leave the red ball stuff to the players who have been scoring runs in the red ball formatā¦in their rightful positionsā¦
Maybe that is what he would like.
But I am sure that if the selectors said, we have picked you to open, he wouldnāt say no.
But in my opinion, he just looks content to be a very large part of the white ball comps.
Aussies a bit short in total last night. As the commentators said, maybe 200 would have been par.
David and Stoinis both played outstanding innings in the game.
Certainly missed Hazlewoods bowling. Second stringers leaving a bit to be desired.
Lokked like the early batting going to be an all out assault from ball one.
A very disappointing effort from the batsmen tonight. So many almost starts and out.
I wonder what Saturdays team will look like. Marsh hinted that there would be chances for others.
One commentator wondered if Beardman may get a gig. Be interesting.
Very much an experimental series for the Aussies with the World Cup in mind. India have a team which is much closer to their best XI so the results are predictable. Ellis has certainly been a standout as far as the bowlers are concerned with his variations. Matt Short seems to be more comfortable at the top of the order and I think that Tim David coming in at 4 is a good move too even though it didnt work out last night. I would hope Beardman will get a game in Brisbane
I reckon Owen needs to bat in the top 3 or not allā¦looks lost when the spinners are on down at 6 or 7. Bit hard competing against the likes of Head and Marsh up top though⦠TBH Head has done fudge allā¦and is living off his WC efforts.
Re Head, maybe should have beeb playing for SA in shield games Freez!istening to Gilly and Ravi, the BBL will get a different time slot. Or they are suggesting that.
It is a real mish mash between the real cricket and wanting the BBL to be the major style of cricket.
Maybe a good topic of its own.
I dont think we need yet another cricket topic started!!! ![]()
