Season 2025

Season 2024 has been a struggle, late retirements, injuries, players with work commitments and family commitments. Call it bad luck, call it a perfect storm, it was just one of those years. I’ve always believed that one door closes, ten doors open up. There will be a new digital scoreboard erected similar to the one at Peel. There will be covered terraced seating on the outer with a new toilet block and lollypop advertising around the ground complements of V.W. The club has four scouts in the east, they have interviewed sixteen players in S.A and VIC. I can say that the club has six players from S.A / VIC and VIC country coming over including two local AFL players ready to pull on a red and blue jumper. Jobs have been secured as well as their partners. The boys have been busy.

I guess someone has to erect this new scoreboard and build the new toilet block Winger for V.W…good to see WP are being pro-active with their recruiting mate.

Geez Winger, you blokes must be swimming in cash to lure all those blokes and their partners over for next year??

Someone is feeding you bullshit Winger. No way anyone is committing to move over the other side of the country 2 months out from the end of the current season. One or two might give you an indication. Who is V.W?

Not sure what happened to Peels scoreboard. Used to be the best by a mile but I think it must have shit itself and it’s been replaced by something inferior. Good to hear about new terraced seating on the outer and a toilet block.

I think he means for next year DD and VW is Venues West. I’m a bit curious as to how they can fit at least 6 new interstate recruits into the current points and salary caps. I know WP have been caught being a bit creative in the past but it does make you wonder.

nice firestarter Wing - right through the middle , dead eye dick never in doubt

BC my friend, got it from the horses mouth, no bullshit.

Winger will the terraced seating be under shelter? Will add to the atmosphere if it is as it will get more bums on seats in the outer.

Winger hope you’re right with that info and your source is reliable because we sure need that type of player injection given our lack of recruiting in recent years.Hopefully we pick up some gems like SD have done this year and most importantly they are in areas we deficient viz. defenders, tall forwards and a dominant ruckman (although Sprigg should develop well next season). If you bring in a lot of interstaters it’s a bit of a double edged sword- on the one hand they may take time to gel and then again we have put a fair bit of time into the young guys this season and we don’t want them to miss out.Real juggling act but the injection of a bit of class (hopefully) might balance us out pretty well.As the SD example shows it took a few games into the season to get started but look at them now. Also I don’t think the points system will be a problem as we have few interstate recruits and lots of young one pointers so the sums on that should be ok.The monetary issue is a different matter as who knows what contractual arrangements will be made but the club has been very diligent in ensuring full financial information is submitted to the commission in recent years and why they would change that now if this recruiting comes off I don’t know.Once bitten etc..
Also Winger is there anywhere where the club has publicly announced those extensions you mentioned?I may have missed it having been away and would love to read the details.

The terraced seating will be covered DD. It was the CEO who told us in relation to the score board / toilet blocks and the terraced seating. I believe the salary cap is to be increased by sixty thousand dollars, all clubs except for East Fremantle have approved the increase.

Moulton in for finger surgery, will miss the remainder of the season. We only have 2 experienced defender, Skipper Munns who plays on the #1 forward @ 5 foot 8inches and Alexandre who has just returned from an ACL. Its looking like bottom spot, if we lose many more there could be some hidings to finish the season. The recruits we have secured are 3 x former Falcons and a gun Forward (seen footage). Add the following who have played only a handful of games or none at all and we are well placed for 2025. Sort of explains the Reserves poor season too

Alexandre
Peirce
Guadignan
Hobley
Moulton
Johnson
Julian
Reilly
Thompson
Carter (late 2025 ACL)
Foley
Murray
Scott Nelson

And dont forget the other afl player and the two from the VFL. The important thing is that we have recruited players that will fit the spots, mind you Kietel toweled one up this season.
