Season 2020

Meadows returned to Williamstown once the VFL was given the green light to go ahead :frowning:

Mike - Aidan Clarke and Patty Farrant both had big pre-seasons and were good in that practice game in February, Clarke will be in our best group of players if he stays in that shape, great kick of the footy.
Anthony Stephens another who is back from injury and Italiano, Erceg, Beck and Jak Watson who is brother of Tobe also played and were ok.
its so long ago that i dont know if they are all still around and fit though !
Warrick Wilson back up north someone mentioned on here, maybe for work ?

Not a bad job Mike.
As RUS & MO have posted I would add- Clarke, Farrant, Grainger-Barrass, Bayok, Beck, Watson, Italiano, Stephens & Erceg to that list.
Also Trew who is highly rated and missed most of last year with a shoulder injury playing for WA 18s.
Hopefully Waz is back for the season start and also Dylan Smith as both showed towards the end of last season their undoubted ability at League level.

Dylan Smith is gone, not sure where, they had some blonde kid Edwards in no 14 in the practice game and he looked ok also.
Grayden Wilson working away also.

Work is the reason for Smith as well I was told MO.
Hopefully we can get them back next season.
Tom Edwards played Colts last year as a key forward.

thanks BH, 2 games only so not sure where he was playing apart from that, looked handy but pretty lightly built

The club has put the scratch match against Perth on the 11th July up on the website but nothing for this Saturday. Does that mean it’s an Intraclub as surely the coach would want more than one hit out prior to the season proper? We already know that Perth are playing West Perth and Subiaco are up against East Perth so that leaves Claremont, Peel or the two Freo teams that we could match up against?

I heard Claremont coach Darren Harris on radio say they CL were playing EF in a scratch match this weekend Mike.

Yep BH, EF play Cl this weekend and Subi the next before the round one Freo derby..

So that leaves South Fremantle or Peel… A practice match against either at Bassendean would be good but nothing on any of the clubs websites

The line up for the 11th July is
C V WP
EP V SF
P V SD
S V EF

Looks like the colts comp start this weekend as EF v SF at Cl oval… whilst the seniors play Cl in scratchies …interesting the colts start their season early if true…where are SD v WP colts boys playing?

I believe the Senior boys are having an intraclub scratch match on Saturday whilst the Colts are playing Peel at Basso.

Yeh 10am Colts 12 noon League I was told mate

The Colts are on at 11.45 mate, the Seniors intraclub match is on after at approx 2pm.

Did anyone get down to the intraclub game on Saturday? Would appreciate a short report. Would be particularly interested in the form of the new players or youngsters who look like they might step up.
Looking forward to the practice game at Lathlain on Saturday.

We are playing Perth tomorrow at Lathlain Park in our first practice match against an opponent in over 4 months, the last being against WCE Reserves at next door Nisbett Park back in late Feb/early March.
The Colts start at 9.30am, the Reserves at 12pm & League game at 2.30pm.

Well we are finally nearly there- Round 1 2020 vs WP at Basso.
A few practice matches are hard to get a good gauge on where we are at but we will have a better idea by Saturday night at 5pm as WP are always a bloody good side and will again be Top 4 this year with Meadows back & the recruitment of Lloyd from Vic.
