A huge game this week and could be seen as season defining. Win and we get a nice little buffer in top spot. Lose and we slip back into the pack with EP and Peel with an inferior percentage. I think we’re virtually injury free except for those guys out for the season and up against Claremont who are travelling pretty well at the moment.
I’ll wait to see what the team looks like but think it will be a cracking game with good weather forecast. Go Lions.
Interesting to see if Tholstrup is available and whether they bring him straight in to play on Bolton. The kid did a number on Bolton earlier in the season and another showing like that will go a long way to getting a win.
If my foggy memory is correct, Claremont had a 3 or 4 goal win when the teams last met. Both teams only lost 1 match since then. Going to be a good contest this one.
Easily game of the round. Subi seem to be assembling the troops quite nicely now…and at the right time… Eastland v Clarke will be a cracking contest as well.

Subi were in front all day and won by 4 goals. Which surprised the hell out of me at the time.
Obviously slow to get going. Mucking about out of defence. Poor turnovers. Unnecessary. Generally struggled to get out of our back half. Why? No run? No height? Need to work on that.
Borchett had a quiet one. Clark ditto in the first half. If only he could time his run at a mark. He nearly turned it around in the second half .
I think we can compete against the tigers in September but we got to win a few coming up.
Very difficult to win games when you only play one quarter of footy. We were comprehensively beaten through the middle for the first 3 quarters and even when we did get it in our front half, the connection between the mids and our forwards was non-existent. We also lacked that toughness around the contest which we had in spades last time we played them.
Sokol badly beaten but not helped by having the ball kicked on his head, likewise Borchet. Mayo did his best work up the ground and could be suited to a high half forward/wing role.
Golding good, Robbins tried, Schofield missing until the last quarter, Giro flashed in and out, Savigni pretty solid down back as was Heal and Dewar. Stainsby seems to have dropped off a bit and might need a run in the two’s. Clarke lowered his colours whilst the Motts got some touches but were always under intense pressure as Claremont tackled very well and swamped the ball carrier.
All in all we showed were up for it and can mix it with the best with a dominant last quarter but need more consistency.
