A little bit of drizzle settled in last week for some great wet weather footy as we saw a mixed bag of results. Pretty much the same across the metro area this weekend again lads. A new ladder change once again and we see canning sit on top this week. To four is shaping up and the battle for fifth will be up for grabs. But let’s not get too excited just yet.
Ossy park came out of the blocks hard and fast last week to claim their first win. Let’s see if there is a few more in them for the red of the season. Iv been seeing a lot of social media of Dean just dropping bombs from sixty meters hoping to see more of that also. Canning at home and the mud pit will be looking great. Big statement win last week and shouldn’t take this lightly. Canning by 6 goals
East freo v valley…. GOTR, a must win game for east, especially if they want to stay in touch with the top five. Valley are really impressive and doing enough to win games. This will be a close one. East freo by 2 points
Willo lost a few players from last year and I wasn’t not expecting them to be having the season that they are having! They need to start winning games or they find themselves in relegation area. A tough task at home against warnbro who put up a horrible performance last week and I know there coach would have put them to work on the training track this week. Warnbro by 4 goals
Rolly taking on uni in another must win match. Uni let one slip through last week and good chance for the tigers to pounce and make it two wins in a row. Rolly by 5 goals
Cott sitting second and for me have been one of the biggest improver’s this year. They will be put to the test against Coolbinia this week who are also fighting to keep the light on. When they play there best they can play good football and will need that this week against a good cott outfit. Cott by 4 goals

Big couple weeks coming up. Roley have just rolled in to a sniff of 5th spot with Coolbinia hot on their heels and East Freo have plummeted in recent weeks after looking the goods early!
Saints Vs Tigers - Sainters are finally on the board and now take on ladder leaders The Tigers. I’m not sure how they crept to the top but they’re sitting pretty and will be quite pleased with themselves. Fortune favours the bold as they say … Tigers should get the cookies here or they’ll plummet to 5th if things go against them.
Eagles Vs Valley - MOTR - this will be an old fashioned slobber knocker! Both teams will be fresh off the bye and hopefully welcoming players back. This is a game both teams need to win but East Freo moreso given they can fall from the 5 if they lose. massive ramifications at the mid point of the season and Valley have just been getting the job done without being flashy. Tipping my boys my 8 points.
Blues Vs Swan - my oh my this is another mouth watering match with The Swans failing to show up in the rain and the blues pulled up just short. You’d have penned in Warnbro 3 weeks ago but now its just a light pencil and do’t be surpised if Willetton win. Warnbro by 30 points in the dry.
Tigers Vs Uni - Here is the third that could go either way with The Students dropping one they needed last week and now it becomes detrimental if they drop 2. Tigers up and about after a nice win last week finally kicking more goals than points. Tigers by 4 goals here.
Falcons Vs Roosters - This should be fairly one way traffic but The Falcons have shown up some weeks and got lost on the way other weeks. Roosters are flying along under the radar and will like to roll in on top at the mid way point and a big win can secure that. Roosters by 40.
Round 8 done and dusted and just 1 more til we get our big half season review.
Tigers got up by a miserly 2 points over The Saints and this ratifies why I’m surprised they sit on top of the ladder.
Valley by 41 over Eagles (what has happened out there??)
Swans by 21 over The Blues
The other Tigers by 6 over The students
The Falcons by 16 over The Roosters and I knew they’d show up again to play … nice work Falcons, would love to see you be more consistent! Big scalp that one!
