Round 4 V Peel Thunder

The injury list on the PFC website was updated only 3 days ago and Stack’s name is not on it.
Im sure someone on this site spoke to him at the footy and he re-assured that nothing major was wrong injury wise??

But who would know why he’s missing?..oh thats right the club would!

Maybe he’s gone walkabout.

Is Kalajzic injured ? 2 Reasonable weeks in the League ?
Agree and I also thought Arangio was good.
Just watching last week unless injured I suspect Arangio didn’t meet the standards in his running and kicking “patterns” which you hear Earl going on about.

Kalajzic is a good player but he sometimes takes too long to move the ball on. Needs to be more decisive with his decision making. Probably just a shot across the bow for both these young fellas.

Stack played ressies last week and looked a bit proppy after the game.

Top win by the colts boys this morning after PT kicked 4 goals in about 90 seconds at the end of the first quarter. Only scored 2 more after that.

Chapman Jones, keep an eye out for his name, he’s going places.

Superdude didn’t see you there this morning mate? You get shunted off to cover another game?

Good start to the game, leading by 9pts at quarter time.
Florio and O’Sullivan getting a bit of the ball.
Eyres doing okay against Griffen & Hannath.
I take it Ransted’s was on bench for whole quarter, astute coaching there.
Cannot believe he was selected.

Half time, still in front but have missed some opportunities.
Peel rucks now on top.
Some good contributors though.
Sinclair playing midfield.
Someone get on Duffy.
Ransted’s, lifted for 2 disposals to half time. They would have been hard ball gets lol.
Power obviously not doing much.
Is Chance okay or did he injure himself?

Bloody poop.
The boys had a red hot go by the look of it.
Tropiano good again with 35.
McKenna 30.
Sinclair, Florio, O’Sullivan, Latch, Johnston all 20 or more.
Only 3 players this week with less than 10.
Surprise of the day Ransted’s racked up a huge 4 disposals.
FFS show him the door.

Tropiano could be in line for State team on current form but he’s two set shot efforts were average at best, he was no orphan in that department and our kicking skills cost us the game not our endeavour, no doubt. Disappointing not to come away with a win.

Eyres should have kicked two and Chesters effort was terrible.

Was good to have Bateman back as he lifts the skill level considerably. Collard didn’t get a bag but always looks dangerous around the ball. Johnston had his best game so hope he continues to improve.

Top effort, pissed off I didn’t get 4 winners though. Hopelessly outmarked by a much taller Fremantle reserves outfit topped by a handful of peel players and Gerard Ugle. I can see why he went to Peel. If he keeps playing like that I reckon Fremantle will pick him up. Sad to say from a Perth point of view. Anyway I like McKenna and Gianatti. And Earl has got some good kids to work with in Bell, Leggett and Tanner. Johnston played by far his best game for the club.

Our skills let us down again particularly going forward and kicking for goal. O’Sullivan and Eyres absolutely butchered it in front of the white pegs. Ben Power improving all the time. His last qtrs. against SD, SF and Peel have been very good.

Any chance Marty you and the football manager, wherever he is can get on the phone, jump in your car, jump on a plane whatever it takes and find a key forward and a gun midfielder?

Hahahaha… get that bottle ready DF, it might be tasting good on Saturday night… B)

So close to tasting that Grange DF! Win not too far away so keep it handy B)

I counted 4 goals missed from 20 mtrs out. Not a bad effort against a side with no less than 17 afl listed players. No excuse though should of won that game by 5 goals! Cam shepherd and ross lyon will be spewing on that effort by peel.

Finally we have a coach with some football brains and soul. It was hilarious watching peel handball over and over kicking into empty forward line instead of us for a change. Still not sure where we are at. Another 4 games will surely tell.

If troppo keeps this format up burner he will go close to the sando!

Phew.
Only had Bol tonight.
I can assure you Mike that the 95 is beautiful, this is my last bottle.
I won’t be saying that again.

Followed it on WAFL Online and they did the Club proud from what I gather.
Some developing players I think.
And a coach with the right attitude.

I think Perth can count themselves unlucky. Having 51% of the total ball usage and 22 more times inside their 50 M area.

An impressive Grange that may ultimately prove to be underrated, like many wines from this vintage, the 1995, a blend of 94% Shiraz and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, exhibits a saturated plum/purple color and a sweet blackberry liqueur nose intermixed with cassis, licorice, and new oak. The wine is textured, jammy, full-bodied, with impressive levels of extract, glycerin, and black fruit flavors. It is long, ripe, with unobtrusive acidity and tannin. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2018 eRobertParker Only (Feb 2002) Robert Parker 92 points

According to Mr Parker best drinking before 2018 DF…lower rating than Oliver & Halliday who rated it a 95/100 wine although the 13.5% alc/vol would explain the lower rating from Parker who doesn’t start salivating until he is drinking overtly alcoholic wines of 17%+…sadly some Aussie wine makers are chasing his palate for positive interrnational write ups and making almost undrinkable wines to please this buffoon. SA’s Mollydooker Wines the #1 offender here. Here’s hoping Perth FC can turn it around and give you something to really celebrate during the next 3-4years. Don’t leave it too long. Like an old footballer playing one season too many you don’t want to spend that kind of $$$$ on wine for it to run outta legs.

Thanks DW.
My guru is Halliday, what he says is gospel.
The bottle of 95 I opened was superb, not that I have opened a lot of Grange.
Opened it over a superb dinner at Clarkes in North Beach.
But I have been lucky enough to savour a few vintages thanks to some very good friends.
This bottle was given to me by a work colleague.
She and her husband were not wine drinkers, I offered her a $100 feeling guilty, but she insisted on giving it to me.
Lovely woman.

DW this is what James said about it.

“In the manner of all great stayers, has picked up pace markedly over the past year. Deeply coloured, ripe cherry, spice, vanilla and a hint of licorice rumble through the bouquet; the palate is powerful and sustained by sweet tannins, the plum and black cherry fruit providing the core for the future.the bouquet is”.

His synopsis seems to be cut short, taken from the online Wine Companion to which I subscribe.
Cheers

It seems to me that McKenna and Latch have been good gets?
David Johnston has improved and has maybe the capability of filling a void?
Sinclair playing midfield?
He is racking up some numbers himself, star in the making?
Same problem, can’t kick straight when it counts.

Another thing I want to make mention of is our players tackled well today. They didn’t cough up too many cheap free kicks. I think Earl is a good teacher and the players are listening and learning. Earl praised the fact the free kick count was 11 to 4 our way in the first qtr because we were first to the ball.

Simple game DD.
Go get the footy and kick it.
Something McDud couldn’t see.
The article on WAFL Online focused on getting their head over the footy.
So as you say the message maybe getting through.
Simple message?
