there had been some crap floating around as there usually is in the off-season
but the news has just been let out
Rokahr has told Swans he’s out
in the rag now
Shiiiiit, massive news, where is he going ???
Back home to SA for personal reasons apparently.
think I’ve seen that Rokahr is originally from Victoria maybe Geelong - hope Swans demand a decent transfer fee
Yes he informed Swans of wanting to return to Adelaide. Probably shows the big divide between our comp and the Sanfl. The Sanfl attracts bigger game day crowds, better player payments and generally healthier footy competition. Whilst our comp just limps along with dwindling crowds, no real media interest, sponsorship not as prolific as yester-year etcetera etcetera. My understanding Rokahr being on a 2 year deal? Will be a huge blow for Swans to have a sandover medallist walking out the door.
How much is’a player tsf fee these days moving between state comps? Isn’t 15K the max fee for an intra state move?
Tobe Watson wanted to return home this year from Vic but he had a contract for 2025 Why couldnt he be held to his contract?
Rokahr has officially been cleared back to Norwood F.C. Will be interesting to see what compensation (if any) Swans receive in return.
Depending on who you speak to, but it has been rumored that the transfer fee/compensation was in the proximity of 40k.

When checking to see Tobe’s stats on the weekend it was interesting to see that another former Swan in Patrick Farrant kicked 5 for the Borough in the same game.

Begs the question how much was he getting paid, you would assume around the $40K per season mark, sheezus!
Statement from Swans re the Nik Rokahr transfer.
NORWOOD PAY TRANSFER FEE FOR ROKAHR TO BREAK CONTRACT At the end of October 2024 Nik Rokahr informed Swan Districts Football Club that he was abandoning his playing contract to return to Adelaide.
Rokahr’s primary reason for moving east was to be with his family.
The club reluctantly agreed to Rokahr returning to Adelaide, however at no time agreed to transfer him to play with another football club, which he was advised. If Rokahr wanted to continue playing football, he had to honour his playing contract with Swans.
Swans hold the integrity of its contracts extremely highly and will do all it can to protect them.
Norwood Football Club contacted the club in November requesting a transfer for Rokahr.
Swans advised Norwood that it would not release Rokahr and if he wanted to play football in 2025, he had to honour his contractual commitment to Swans.
Regrettably, Rokahr then engaged lawyers threatening Swans with what the club saw as a significant amount of money.
However, the club still didn’t concede and believed it was important to protect the integrity of WAFL, and by extension SANFL player contracts, which had the support of the WA Football Commission.
Norwood then appealed Swans refusal to transfer Rokahr to the AFL. However, the AFL supported Swans position and refused Norwood’s request.
Norwood eventually agreed to pay Swans $44,000 for the transfer.
Credit to SD for holding their ground. Contracts have to mean something, but all too often don’t in the WAFL.
That’s really interesting. Good outcome, I think.
Good outcome in the end for Swans. We got our money and we can move on.
Good that Swans stood their ground and the AFL backed them up. I think that it is disappointing that Rokahr threatened the club with legal action. It has no doubt put a bit of a sour taste in Swans supporters mouths about his contribution in 2024 and the Sandover medal victory
If it’s any light relief for the SD fans - Norwood are 0/3 and sitting 2nd last on the SANFL ladder…what’s that about the grass not always being green?
