Rnd 5 Swans against EF Sat 18 April

Have heard this match being broadcast on abc radio, or was I hearing things? Would be great if the abc radio did call the footy again   abc radio have not called a game since the first match of the season. Hopefully they start calling more games.

Not sure re abc but will comment that I tried the WAFL app Mad Dog mentioned on another thread last week to listen to the live radio coverage whilst watching the game only to realise the stream was running about 45seconds behind the actual game and frustrated the bejesus out of me trying to get it to catch up so gave up on the commentary for the day.

DW The ef v cl 91.3fm broadcast although the boys do a great job, ran a full 3 min behind. I got to savour our win twice , once at the ground and once halfway down canning highway on my way home. :cheer:

Yes,they are covering the game. I presume after the Dons v Blues clash.

Should be a perfect day for footy! 27 and sunny, perfect weather to neck a couple in either of the can bars.
I think we are near on good things here on the proviso we bring the same attitude and intent as last week. The Sharks strength is their mids and if we can square it then we should be too strong.
I think we’d go in very settled with maybe only a query over Ridley but I suggest he will get a few more chances to find his feet. Wityk snagged a couple in the ressies but he and Donovan didn’t see much ball. Donovan probably another couple of weeks away. Others looking for promotion to the League team would be youngsters in Coniglio(still needs to make better decisions for mine),whitsed, chad Daniels and possibly Jack Watson.
But as stated,we don’t have a lot of experience to call on in the ressies . Doc is still a couple of weeks away I think and not sure how Banfield is coming along?

We need to bring the same attitude to the footy every week as we came with vs SF who will be a Top 3 side this season. And this week vs Old Easts would be a good start considering the carry on during the 1st Semi last year!

I hope we go in unchanged. The players seem to have gelled well and there is numerous players capable of playing different positions or a shutdown role in need.
I am worried about the EF midfield but am still confident of a win providing the players are switched on again which usually happens at Basso.
I expect a big crowd maybe pushing 3000 as sharks supporters seem to travel to Basso in good numbers.
Cant wait!

That and clean up his disposal. A couple of hospital passes over first few weeks won’t endear him to fellow players. Early days though and with natural adjustment to speed of game he will be ok. Seems to have an appetite for the game which is super important.

How about Alby Dean? Will he get a look in soon?

by "carry on’ BH, do you mean EF fans getting excited for kicking 9 goals in the final quarter to win the 1st semi?..I remember a few SD fans ā€œcarry onā€ a tad last year after their ā€œgreatestā€ come from behind win v SF or Perth in an ordinary home & away game from memory :cheer:

SD will be fine on Sat…EF mids are all over 27 and will run out of puff after half time…EF kicking for goal and inside their 50 is deplorable at present…fella’s like Ames, Simpson, Notte will have a field day up back…as for Cary and Geappen up front…well I can see both those boys having a day out…SD are the form side out of the two at present…in all honesty SD have the defence to shut down EF forwards and more variety up front to stretch EF defence…SD zip thru the midfield will stretch the likes ROB, Anthony, Dalziell and MacNamara…touch wood EF play youngsters in Regan and Barone…

Touch wood all I have posted is untrue and wrong  …on their day and if the EF mids can kick to targets and those targets can actually kick straight themselves, then it should be a good game…not all doom and gloom but right now as it was case last year SD are playing better football out of the two clubs…come later in the year and during the finals that may be a different matter…SD to win by 30 plus points…not what I want to happen but can’t see how EF are gonna kick enough goals to win this game…but hey if EF do win then everything I have written here is just my usual pot of crock and should be treated with it’s usual disdain

I wasn’t referring to our cyberspace banter with the ā€˜carry on’ remark freeze, more the Greg Louganis impersonations that took place!

BH that game is yesterdays news mate, of course us EF fans are gonna hang our hat on that last quarter comeback…but hey we had a 20 goal breeze at our backs and SD had kicked EF arse for 2 1/2 qrtrs of that match…TBH SD capitulation was more Greg Normanesque than Louganis mate  …at least Louganis recovered to win gold! …you guys will shit it in on Sat…hopefully DW has fixed the overflow in the toilets by then…or its gonna get awwwfully messy..

I’ll be in Indo by the weekend Freeze…I’ve been reliably informed that the toilet block on the far side of the ground by the can bar is in fine working order so if your mob can refrain from urinating off the top steps of the grandstands just this once the club would be ever so grateful :silly:

I think if our mids cannot dominate I agree with you Freeze SD talls will kill us.

I’m just hoping my car will still be when I go home…that in itself will be a win.

DW…her’s the deal mate…you fella’s leave our cars alone and we will leave your grandstand steps alone… :stuck_out_tongue:

On a serious note what’s with the concrete pad they poured today next to the can bar on the outer side?

Hope it’s not to hold up that bloody big golden arch M sign

one of those open air toilets perhaps…used a few on my travels through Asia and Africa in the 90’s…

Without knowing it may be for the foundations of some sort of shelter for the patrons of the can bar.

Progress has been made on the new BBQ up on the hill near the Swan Bar. Sausages will be sizzling round 7! Thanks to our partners Outcare and their Liveworks program for their hard work.

touch wood the toilets are flowing properly by then fellas… sausages is all you need at the footy…I trust BH, 42 and DW will be supervising the barbie :P…great idea to have a barbie at the footy, good way to earn some more coin. :cheer:
