Rioli decision

Kim Haggers reckons we’ll hear the outcome in 48 hours. He also says there’s a possibility that he could be playing by August. Haggers isn’t too bad with his predictions, but hope this one is spot on.

Done, confirmed. 2 years backdated, eligible to play the final round of 2021.

Lucky boy but I think any more than that would have been over the top. But don’t get too excited. Will the Australian anti doping authority appeal it like they did Shayna Jack? Flogs.

Apparently his first game back will be for the WCER v Claremont. Can he train with WC prior to playing or must he train separately?

I believe that it depends on the body that has imposed the sanction.

AS I understand it he can start training in June for the August restart.

Also listening to Middlemas this morning on the way home the beach, he let rip into Nesbitt abt his comments yesterday, like many he deflected the issue on to WADA, ASADA etc and the AFL’s and WCE drug education processes, Middlemas said hang on Rioli broke the rules not once but twice and then tried to hide it. Seems to me that the ABC sports commentator has it VERY right (oops excuse the pun)

all good for Corbin I reckon mate
this Nisbett skin crawler is well versed with Drug cultures and deflecting or worse
only have to remember Cousins , Chick , Kerr , Fletcher and more
It’s Nisbett’s watch not everyone elses’

I don’t need to provide a disclaimer with respect to my antipathy to the eagles but it beggars belief that an organisation such as the eagles could suggest such nonsense. What possible mitigation can there be in tampering with urine samples? More generally if the eagles’s players were having difficulty completing their e-learning how difficult would it have been for the eagles to provide person to person training?

I thought all of what Nisbett said was pretty fair actually. He didn’t defend Riolis actions he simply said that the whole process drags out too long which surely everyone agrees with and he said the Eagles had failed Rioli by not providing him with supervision during the drug testing.
Anyway I’m glad that we should see Rioli play again because he’s a beauty to watch

As a professional sportsman at what age would you need to be to know that tampering with urine samples is wrong?

Is Eagles, is bad.

Not at all. It is patent nonsense for the eagles to try to say that some of their players had troubles doing their e-learning when it would have been very simple and relatively cheap to provide comparable in-class training.

No idea what you are saying swannie, but I think you missed the tongue in cheek meaning of my post.
