Rangers blow any hope

After a major trip up v Hearts , Rangers have pretty much cooked any chance of a top finish at the hands of Kilmarnock, Celtic meanwhile hammered Hearts 5 Nil, leaving a 10 point gap, even with a game in hand they pretty much have farked it…

Gerrard might get the arse.

Go hoops, ten straight next year.

As a Celtic supporter I am not fussed one bit! :silly:

Rangers have played 1 less game than the Hoops. If they beat Celtic next time they play. They can get back to within 4 points.
Rangers fan told me the other day. When they where prosecuted for tax evasion by the British Tax Office. It was a test case as there chasing the big English clubs, for tax evasion.

Yep, watched them last night beat Aberdeen, ugly win but got there in the end.

Big ask now, they will need Celtic to drop a game or even two and they have to keep winning, they managed a 1 nil win last night.

Pretty decent come back by them at Ibrox last night in the EUROPA , lets see how they go away.

Celtic did OK in Copenhagen a 1 1 result, with an away goal, and now to play at PARKHEAD for a win hopefully.

Bazz was reading a Scottish paper the other day.Celtic and the Dane club there playing in Europa League. Are the best 2 clubs at drafting young players. Ànd selling them off for huge profits. Celtic have done a few in the last couple of years.

GTR it is interesting to see in the SPL that so called Socceroos stars like Rogic (Celtic) etc cant even get a look in their respective first teams and are only on the bench.
The SPL is not exactly considered in the top echelon of European Leagues but just goes to show how far behind them the A-League is in comparison!

As a Sunderland supporter BH I have no interest in any English soccer. The SPL is the only soccer I watch atm+ a little bit of the Championship EFL.
Think it was 2009 or 10 Celtic played Perth Glory at Perth Oval.A plane flew over the ground saying on a banner Rangers 6 in a row, lol.Celtic played with Glory 3+0 and took there foot of the throat in the second half.

Yeah Rogic is really struggling to hold his spot , he came on late in the game couple of weeks back, looked really off his best.

As you say I reckon most SPFL teams even small ones like Hamilton, Motherwell etc would beat A league teams.

Its pretty sad to see the poor crwods at Scottish games, reminds me very much of WAFL , the EPL has sucked the life out of it like the AFL has done to WAFL.

You would get 20 -30 K at most Scottish Games routinely in 60s and 70s, now some of them are 3000.

Yeah a year or two later Rangers went into receivership, lol

They made the Europa Cup Final around that year but got toweled up 2 Nil.

Baz do you know what the Europa finals worth $$$ for the Hoops.Martin Oniel also got them into a final 02 or 03 lost to Porto.Last 8 Champions League knocked out Barcelona..Gave Alex Ferguson ManU a run for there money in the pools.

Have seen some highlights online recently of some of the Old Firm Derbies from the 1980s when the likes of Sounness was running around for Rangers big crowds and full on games.
It is quite incredible really to think only the Glasgow sides Rangers and Celtic have won the Premiership in the SPL since Aberdeen under Sir Alex Ferguson pinched a title back in the early 1980s, in fact between the 2 of them they have won probably more than 90% of the titles in the 100+ years the SPL has been going in its different forms/names.

bease – correct – the trophies taggart won at Aberdeen demonstrate the man’s true greatness as a manager.

the scots have not had even a reasonable national side since gary Mccalister’s day twenty odd years ago.

the biggest crowd in sports history was the 135, 000 which watched celtic play lu in 1969; it also has to be one of the most one sided crowds ever seen at sports event – 5000 lu fans. In relation to scotland, one should also mention that the game was referred to as the ‘battle of britain’, but, in fairness, it should have been the ‘battle of scotland’.

all the celtic players were scottish plus:

storrie
harvey
lorimer
bremner – second captain under Revie
gray
bell
collins – captain of the side which was promoted under Revie

all played regularly in the lu side during the 1960s. Bremner also scorred for Leeds in the game above. This achievement by the Scots was magnificent and will never be equalled. They rattle on about celtic a lot, but they often forget that it was a great era for british soccer full stop. In 1969, England were the world cup holders, including players, such as, Norman Hunter and Jack Charlton of Leeds United.

correct bease: to be honest Tagget United’s trophies at Aberdeen were his best moments as a manager.

Spot on AR that Aberdeen Premiership was a title won by good coaching/management by Ferguson and not by having just the biggest bank account a la at Man Utd!

BH: yep, agreed mate

i think he would hold two things dear:

1 aberdeen
2 the first mu english championship, because before that, as you know, he was in danger of getting the sack.

Celtic got the money last night with a 3-1 win against Kilmarnock whilst Rangers continue to implode at the wrong end of the season held to only a 2-2 draw against strugglers St Johnstone putting them now 12 points behind the Hoops now with 1 game still in hand.
