Under WAFL rules, a club can be fined at least $500 for a first offence for any act that would “damage the image of football in WA in the eyes of the public” or “adversely affect the standing or reputation of the league or the league competition”.
The Ferals and Peel should have to pay the $500 before Swans do, surely !!!
I think the WAFL fan in general would have had a laugh at the Swans scoreboard, I know I did and it is a bit precious if that warrants a fine.
Seems that a few people are very sensitive about this issue in WAFL headquarters.
I for one could not see what all the fuss was about. The name plate was only indicating the participants in said match. And NO Swan Districts do not warrant a fine! Football commission should be asking questions about itself first. Never mind about fining a Wafl club over nothing.
Not only did they breach the WAFL rules. They actually got the names the wrong way around.
Total Eagles played games representing East Perth equalled a massive 9.
Total Eagles played games representing Swans equalled 240+
Enough said lol

Lies, damn lies and statistics. If you are referring to the number of games that Embley has played for the Eagles it would have been fair and reasonable for you to indicate that Embley was one of three brothers who have played for Swan Districts. With respect to Davis I believe the number of Eagles games is around 13. Davis is and indication of, as was Hansen previously, of the adverse affect the host club will have on the WAFL competition. The point was made on Saturday that with very few exceptions the Swan Districts’ members and supporters are not happy with the host club situation.
It is breathtaking that the WAFC could consider fining Swans for bringing the WAFL competition into disrepute given that it was their decision which has done exactly that. For any WAFC official who may be reading this topic a cautionary note: if Swans are fined then you can expect the anti-host oppposition to be even more virulent and vocal. I am sure that they would love to have exposed on the ABC to a very wide and national audience signs criticising the host sceanario etc. Be warned you have been cautioned. It will be a Pyrrhic Victory.
Clear Vu did you foreget the coaching staff and the interlectual knowledge that the WCE are already giving WCEP. Most suspaect that the new CEO is paying paid for by WCE too.
Interesting when I was heading for the Swans huddle at quarter time on Saturday, I saw Phil Narkle in a blue and black tracksuit running towards the East Perth team. Is he one of the Eagles specialist coaches? Just a bit ironical I thought given his status as an all time Swans champ
That is correct Mike, and from my understanding he is a liaison officer
Because he played over 150 games for Swan Districts, it would qualify him to life membership for Swans too. Looks like a foot in both camps? All a bit confusing I know!
